We have snow falling as I type, it is not settling as yet as the ground is quite wet but we shall see
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.

Toontron - Really good idea about the mobile phone charger. About 3 months ago when I was making Hubby's car kit ( yes I am that sad!) I bought 2 windup torches from Tescos which also has a set of mobile chargers for various phones. They cost 9.99 each and even though we have not had to use the charger the torch itself is pretty good for it's size.

Also I don't know if this is just our Tescos or not but they stop selling Value cat litter and Value porriage oats when the cold weather comes. They replace it with their'non value' own make or branded goods. So I tend to stock up during the summer so I don't get caught out.
If you find some of the above Value products it might be worth buying a few extra just in case your local store follows suit!

Still have snow here and more to come by the looks of it. AngUk, don't think that you are far from me;) Thriftkitten, glad that you were included with the snow!
Just a thought when I was clearing the snow off the car late last night. A hand brush would have come in handy (the dustpan and brush type?) to sweep it off. Maybe worth sticking one in the boot and at the front door? Those mobile chargers... I bought one at our local petrol station. It has been handy a few times when OH has forgotten to charge his and is on the way to work.:)
