I'm a noggin, there I am getting everything sorted around the house (this time tomorrow we'll have better insulation in the roof just in time for the really cold weather) and this morning realised DD hasn't got any boots
This is what happens when she gets a load of hand-me-down shoes (hardly worn) from her aunty and I decide not to take her shoe shopping despite going up a size as a result
Guess we'll be off to try and get her some tonight, just need to check I can afford the £70 for 2 pairs as I need some as well
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Can't you just buy some jazzy looking wellies?
That would cost you a lot less.0 -

Thats where I am, just abit further south right on the coast between Grimsby and Mablethorpe
Ours has all melted now, got bright sunshine, but looking at the sky over the coast we'll get some more soonMy self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -

Snowing thickly here today, snowed a little yesterday too. I like the snow but it does cause problems in so remote an area."Ignore the eejits...it saves your blood pressure and drives `em nuts!"0

We had a lovely blue cloudless sky here in North Staffordshire an hour or so ago, the sky is now nearly totally grey.
The local radio says we will get a slight dusting later and it is now -5 but it looks like we will def get some snow.
I only hope it is after 3pm when I have done the school run. Primary school was only 15 mins away but my daughter started at secondary this term and I have to drive there.0 -
all i can say is the dishwasher salt is great at melting ice.. much better than the normal table salt..Sealed pot challenger # 10

It is so bloomin difficult to get warm boots of any kind when you have wide feet and calves. I managed to get some cheap and warm decent bootee types from soyoushoes. They are fine for everyday cold but will be useless on ice. I have found some dr martens winter boots that look wide so fingers and toes crossed and I have looked everywhere. My walking shoes/trainers (merril) are great for rough stuff but no good on ice. I can`t get wellies on either, doh I did a lot of horse riding when I was younger and being a cuddly size doesn`t help0

Just finished bubble wrapping my draughty back door that we don't use! It is aluminium dodgy double glazing and gets really cold and wet in the winter. It's worth £2 to see if it makes a difference!! If so I might do the only aluminium window in the house which is the downstairs bathroom next to the dodgy back door!! Any experience from anyone else? There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0
