Your emergency car kits really should include one of these:-

That's just reminded me, I must get some salt. Luckily we live about 5 minutes from the council depot with their big salt store and they normally let OH have a couple of big bucketfuls. There is a gritbin at the end of our street but it gets emptied within minutes of being filled. :(

We've had snow off and on all day, as soon as it melts on the paths more comes down, it's been like a blizzard at times.

edit: It's snowing quite heavily now and a gritter has just gone past.

  • Well I'm filled with excitement, just woke up and my inner child ran to the window Yippppeeeeee we have offically had some snow:T
Ok... Ok.. we had about 3 flakes that have stuck to one side of the shed roof, panicking and excited, I'm getting the winter pack for the car sorted as we speak... snow treads.... and snow suits out...
Hahahha!! so I'm over reacting, but I am now an official member of the snow club!!!

  • Actually, forget all my whinging about driving in the snow - it's the best thing in the world wrapping DD's up in a dozen layers and letting them loose on the first snowy day of the winter. :)

Good start to the snow here (it all came in 1 hour though! Barely a sugar-coat at 0630 and by 0730 you could make snowballs) not bad for a valley, I expect it'll be heavier over my parents' way.

Only thing is I'm now panicking in case there was anything I overlooked in my winter prep? I need to do a big final list I think, make sure there's nothing I've forgotten.
  • I got a couple of salt shakers for de-icing the paths and our car kit is ready but am waiting for the 2 bivvy bags as well. They send 97% of body heat back to the body

no snow here but I am taking no chances after last year
