I ordered a Dyson DC25, and got the same reply, credit card could not be processed for two weeks, also received an invoice with their bank account and sort code. Expecting this to be a scam, I still for the hell of it paid the money with the furter discount, promised delivery last weekend 24/27, plus a phone call with a number that showed up with caller ID promising deliery. As expected nothing arrived, sent email threatning Watchdog, and intending to go to my bank with their details, Bingo yesterday email received saying being despatched and a Fedex tracking number, unit delivered this afternoon obviously brand new and not long packed by manufacturer, Releif or what! I dont think I will gamble again not worth the pressure. :j:j:j:j:j

I felt I had to pop in a reply...

My wife ordered a DC31 via Utopia Office and had the same experience as a lot of you - would you like to pay via direct deposit / cheque and here's a ten quid discount. She did, via direct deposit, during the day whilst I was at work.. She had checked the Amazon price and whilst it wasn't an awesome deal, it was a deal all the same..

The direct deposit went through Wednesday and then, Thursday night she mentioned that she had done this and we did a little research and found this thead.. obviously a little distressed, I did some poking around and came up with everything else you guys had already found, including a company number that is listed with Companies House (granted, anyone could) -- goto the companies house website and check via search this number 6769581 (go to search, mid screen) and they come up... as did their whois info and that cute little shack in the country, and the guy's LinkedIn profile, and his Facebook page.. and so on and so forth.. anyway, called late last night, answering machine.. didn't leave a message... wife checks her email, there's a CityLink tracking number which "isn't valid" ....we left it and checked again this morning, sure enough, out for delivery... I asked M how she got to citylink perchance it was a spoofed header.. she googled and went to their site directly.. good.. I rang the number of the company again... beep beep beep (full) mailbox tone.

Three minutes ago a DC31 turns up in an Amazon box.. sealed, all in order...

I found it very odd that the device came from Amazon... well, the thing turned up and it's here... not checked if it works...

So - here's a picture for you skeptics...

I've dumped a large black line over my full address, but you can see my name / vague address, which is what you'd find if you did a little google on gtvone and then a whois...

Long story short... We got what we paid for. But the whole process of receiving and email asking for direct deposit / finding this thread is a little off putting.

We ordered a Dyson DC25 Animal earlier this week and got the 'unable to process credit card, can you pay by transfer and well give you a tenner off' email. Being slightly suspicious at this point I rang the sales guy Anthony and he seemed OK so we paid £219 via transfer. I am now wishing I did a quick google search to find this thread so I'm feeling a bit stupid now.

Anyway I have tried calling (answerphone) and no reply to my email yet - I will let you know what happens as it seems like some people have ended up ok out of this - let's see what happens...

UTOPIA CONSORTIUM LTD - If you are reading this, this is a good chance to help reassure people thinking about placing an order with you in future... I can assure readers that I am in no way connected to them - not sure how else to prove it (photo with a tea bag again :-) ) but I'm happy to take suggestions as to how...
