There is a forum for renting property.

You'll need it in two days.

A very strange attitude to have towards your colleagues on another force.

I will put my trust in GMP, as you did in Suffolk, even though you are a Detective Inspector with Scotland yard.

I will let the officer dealing with the complaint know there is a DI involved with this case, they may well like to talk to you to see what more information you can offer.
  • My point it's got nothing to do with GMP, it's a suffolk fraud. I am not that interested in the case but can add perspective if needed. But before you ask I will not provide JD with my personal contact details at work.

  • To add, if a fraud...

I dont see why any officer would refuse to give out their contact details, but I am not interested in them anyhow. If you are genuinely a inspector and you are of any use to the case I am sure the GMP can find out how to contact you.

As I am the victim of crime, I report it to my local police, not the force in the area of the conman.

They are very interested, and have requested the email I received, as well as those I sent, and have assured me an officer will visit me in a few days to follow up.

I don't wish to offend, but isn't the right group to report internet fraud the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau http://www.nfib.police.uk/ on 0300 123 2040 ?

General advice is to call your local police (as advised on the police general website), if you wish to contact Trading Standards their advice is to also call the office local to the poster.

But as SMOS585 said, no one here knows for a fact that this is a fraud, and for that matter we have no idea really who is telling porkies (including the possibility that some may be posting under different pseudonyms), and who is being upright and honest.

If in doubt start the cancellation process ASAP, because if they don't refund within 30 days then it is more likely that the police would be interested.

Good luck, and Merry Christmas to absolutely everyone reading this....
  • Wait and see, home office reporting codes!
  • This is a company with a distribution delay and possible cashflow issues, but thats not for me to ponder on.They do exist they do respond to emails, they didnt dissapear as some sooth sayers on these forums suggested.A few nasty comments from regular contributers on these forums could have upset the buyers and ruined the companies reputation.Shame on you cos this is not these forums are all about.
