We were telephoned saturday to be told our dc31 would be shipped Monday arrival today, it turned up this morning. .I have not yet seen any posting from anyone who says the money was handed over but nothing turned up after a reasonable period of time.New posters have been accused of "being in on it" and connected to the company!! .I ordered an item off a reputable company on ebay posted to me on the 10th and its still not here.I send out a number of parcels every week via my Fiatbreakers website many have been delayed.
Scream scam when you have evidence of a con.So much rubbish has been written here it beggars belief!!0 -
It is incredible co-incidence that after nearly every item of negative news/post about Utopia, up pops a newbie (or our friend from Burgess Hill) to say "I've just got mine"!
It would be more believable if some of these "buyers" supported good internet buying recommendations, as previously stated by Alias_Omega and others - see below, rather than mislead or lead astray less experienced purchasers.
Our friend from Burgess Hill questions whether the delay is not unreasonable. Well here is a post from another review site from yesterdayLike others, I tried to pay by c.card and received an e-mail asking me for bank transfer or cheque. Cheque was sent and was cashed 24 November 2010. Phoned 7th December querying delivery date (was surprised they answered) and was told that it had been sent to the courier and would definitely be delivered Thursday 9th December and guess what -nothing was delivered. On returning from a short trip, I find an e-mail stating that there is a backlog due to bad weather (there wasn't any when they told me it was already at the courier) and that it would be delivered last week. Have left message but no response. Trading standards will be notified if not delivered by Xmas Eve.Alias_Omega wrote: »All,
Over the festive period, cash can be spread very thin across a range of products to give to friends and family members as gifts.
Another 'bogus' or 'dodgy' website is not what we need in the world today, and I urge MSE Forum readers to take care when purchasing items online, Also use there own judgement and to try to protect themselves by paying with a credit card, as sending cash transfers etc will not be protected incase of fraud.
I will also urge prospective buyers to ignore the 'my items arrived' posts by new MSE users, especially those who have registered on the MSE Forum website within the past few months.
The MSE Forum draws alot of internet traffic and is pretty much comes in the top of every search for a product made within google, usually as a MSE Forum user has posted about the item/website. New users that post onto the MSE Forum could be part of a group out for deception, to obtain peoples cash without providing any items in return.
So please, when purchasing online, ask "Where is my money going".
Buyer Beware..
Regards,
Alias
Bottom Line: If this isn't a scam or Ponzi scheme, then why hasn't Utopia sorted the CC issue or changed its website after 4 months? Utopia website was originibally registered in the Spring of 2009 - I would have thought any new business would want to avoid these issues (or resolve them quickly) - also bear in mind that Ensinger was previously a director of Silverline Office Equipment of Mildenhall, Suffolk; so he's not exactly new to the business.0 -
I am not a friend from Burgess hill. I have received the goods as promised. I have made it clear that i am not connected to this company and ive previously left my contact details on these forums to confirm i do exist and im not "in on it". I run a Fiat car breakers company. Ive even left my contact details and Burgess Hill telephone number.
You are welcome to state the facts as you see them but im still of the opinion that plenty of absolute rubbish has been written on these forums and new posters have all been tarred with the same brush.
I previously stated in a post that has suprisingly disappeared off these forums that its obvious that new postings will appear from newbies cos if you type in Utopia office supplies into Google these forums show up on the first page saying Warning.
Plenty of old hands on here are unhelpfull and issuing false statements. I wonder if this posting will dissappear also...........0 -
I am getting really annoyed as when I 1st posted on this thread I then receive an email staying I would get my delivery shipped on monday! I have nothing since and NOBODY is replying to my emails or calls. I have now been waiting 2 weeks0

They have not delivered anything to anybody. Do not believe any poster who says otherwise.
Lowlife Ensinger is relying on people giving up trying to get their money back - lets face it if 50% give up then he's made a lot of money.
For those of you genuine posters - do not give up. I have posted his address earlier. You have several courses of action that you can take legally, and even more that would be frowned upon if you were caught.
Here are some of the legal ones:
1. Report to the police
2. Report to Trading Standards
3. File a claim through the courts system to recover your money + costs + interest. This only costs £25 to do. Remember to file the claim against his home address or the company's registered address - not the PO Box number.
4. Post warnings about the scam on as many Facebook pages and message boards as you can.
Bear in mind when you read some of the above posts that Ensinger is creating user ids then having 'conversations' with himself. If you weren't switched on you may fall for this approach. It's all designed to stretch out the scam so that people will eventually give up.0 -

You know it's quite amazing.
I didn't think buying a Dyson for the wife for Xmas was such a fantastic idea but you guys keep telling me that it's the perfect gift.
I mean firstly to find Utopia you had to google the Dyson DC31. Make your purchase.
Wait a week or so.
Then google Utopia/DC31 and then sign up for this forum to post a praise of the company.
Lets take Brendan for example, he's a first million member of Linkedin, from his profile he's obviously pretty computer savvy but joins a web forum using his full name?
I bought a random product from a company last week, they delivered the following day whilst the radio reported huge delays. I didn't go and search for them again in google. If I wanted to send them a thanks, I'd call the number on the email or from the website if they didn't send me one.
However, as I said pages ago, the lack of people posting on this thread who've not had a delivery is a good sign that people are just getting very slow service and delivery but that it will come eventually.0 -
People might believe that - but in conjunction with accepting a credit card then asking for a bank transfer, it is not normal practice. Every single thing that i've ordered on the internet has arrived, apart from this. And yes, I have been waiting 4 weeks for mine!
For the record, the Distance Selling Regulations Act states that you are entitled to a full refund if the item is not delivered within 30 days of the order being placed. That's 30 days max! Take them to court and they will lose. It will end up costing them more.0 -

Well, he's done a darn fine job of duplicating me on LinkedIn, with years of premonition and a lengthy professional portfolio to prepare himself for this moment.
You've posted good advice about consumer rights, but please... stick with that and dispense with the hysteria.
I am a genuine poster and I did receive my product when promised, though would appear that I was incredibly lucky if all other posters were aliases of Mr Ensinger. I'm not defending anyone here - simply imparting my own experiences.0 -
Okay here goes the cynic in me
But it seems those who received their Dyson fall into two categories:
1. Those who work for utopia who wish to carry on the scam and are brand new posters who all seem to type in the same style with no paragraphs, punctuation and multiple spelling errors (also many sound like English is not their first language - which isn't a problem, but a bit of a coincidence?) A few people made me chuckle at the beginning all saying something like 'not long from the manufacturer' - funny how multiple people used the same odd phrase.
2. There are then the people who I do think are genuine e.g: Seymour - who have received theirs but these are also the same people providing information here about themselves, their websites, contact info, names etc - so it would be really easy for the Utopia staff/friends/family who are seemingly constantly monitoring this thread to pick those orders off their system and send an item (from Amazon??) to those in order to get a 'good rep' here from a real person.
Total scam.
Agreed - also some companies are prepared to pay their clients for a good review - I know I have been approached by a couple of internet e-tailers and offerred £20-£25 for a good review - seems to be the going rate.
The point I was trying to make earlier is a sure sign of a dishonest company is that negative reviews are often followed by a positive, funny that.0 -
