  • Hi to All,

Well I finally joined my local SW group last week and have been for my first WI today and I was delighted to discover that I have lost 4lbs on the EE plan. I'm over the moon and just wanted to share my joy with everyone. Still got a way to go, but moving in the right direction. :D

Hope you all have a nice day!

D: Jacket Spud, Cheese(not worked the syns out for this yet), Beans (Butter 2)
    HE: 350 Milk
Snacks: Another Banana, 1x walkers crisps (6.5)
So thats me done, I do struggle to get in my other Healthy extra, are alpen light bars really 2 xHE.
Also what Ryvita Mini's can be had as a HE

sounds very yummy - do you have a recipie?

can i ask - what do people think of eating the same food for half the week? will a lack of variety slow down the weight loss?
i only cook for myself and made a huge veggie pasta on saturday. filling out my weeks food diary i realised i ate it for 4 days in a row!!

1st weigh in tonight - fingers crossed

    Good luck for the WI!

I'll happily eat the same thing for several days in a row - esp as my husband is working away from home. I've always been like that, though ;)

Greent - how many syns are biscotti? and how on earth do you stop yourself from eating every last one of them - i lurrveeeeeee them so much.. also second the request for the risotto recipe please :D

Biscotti are 2 syns each:eek: (for weeny ones :() And I hide them up high so I have to fetch a stool and move things to get to them - makes me think twice about whether I want them - as otherwise I will happily munch all of them without thinking about it!:o

Oven baked risotto: (adapted to be SW friendly) (original recipe found on MSE)

Finely chop an onion and a couple of cloves of garlic. Fry in frylight until soft and see through (and a splash of water if catching) (as for normal risotto) Add your risotto rice and coat in onion mixture.

Tip into casserole dish. Add loads of chopped mushrooms, some black pepper, a pint of chicken stock (a glass of white wine if you want to syn it) and cover and cook for about 20 mins at about 160-180. Take out and throw in the cooked chicken bits (mine are always the weeny leftover bits off the carcass after I've made stock) and (optional) chopped parsley/ basil. Put back in oven for about 5-10 minutes

I sautee the spinach in loads of garlic and basil with a dash of soy. You can if you wish add spinach to the risotto about 3 minutes before the end.

I'm a throw it in and don't measure kind of person, so haven't included any quantities.

You still have to do that first bit, but then it's shove it in the oven and forget about it - like rice pudding, really :D

Makes 2 generous helpings with some for late night munchies cold from the fridge ;)

i was freezing this morning so i gave in and got a coffee at starbucks. but was pleasantly surprised to find a tall skinny cappacinno is only 3 syns.

I often eat the same basic meal for three or four days, though I might vary or add to the vegetables. Doesn't do me any harm, and it's the only MSE (and time-saving) way to go for us singletons!

    thank you Slimming World!
  • Has anyone got a SW recipie for Corned beef hash with ordinary spuds (as all hubby will eat) please ?

Will have it with baked beans (or beans n sausages) and try and mix some peas, carrots and sweetcorn in with the hash.

    Thanks :)

BIG HUGZ Lynz ~ Hope you feel better soon. Just try and stick to the basic healthy principles and rest until your better which hopefully will be less than a few days. Then start again. No point fretting when your feeling poorly.

Oh no poor you, I am so sorry to hear you are having such a poo day.

I would suggest just to try and keep to as low fat as possible with what you have. Maybe a green day as they are cheap and easy.. a JP or pasta and a tin of toms with herbs etc.

Maybe you could have some shopping delivered? if there are some free delviery codes or choose a cheap time slot or a fruit and veg box (I have no clue how much they are). Is there anyone close by who could pop into the shop for you for a couple of bit until you are well enough.

Lots of hugs to keep you going. xxx
