well im gutted started last wednesday after weigh in the tuesday night and i have not cheated once at all since wednesday had to go to weigh in tonight as out tomorrow and i had lost half a bloody pound. I know a loss is a loss but im still upset.

I have filled in my diary religiously and the consultant tonight had a quick look but suggested i gibe it to my normal one next week, and she said it looks fine to me. I have exercised for over 2 and a half hours this past week as well.

i cant have done anymore i really cant. everyone raves about how much you lose in the first week and then it tails off, well if it tails off for me i will be gaining every week.

sorry for the rant but upset. I wont give up though but still upset as weighed myself on my scales just before i went and i had lost 5 pounds on them!!

I know it's a waste of time telling you not to be too upset but really, I've had loads of people in group who do this every other week after trying very hard and the inbetween week, their loss goes through the roof. Try to be calm and wait another week before deciding it's not working.

Everybody (and every body) is different and I do think it's worth looking at your loss over a month rather than a week. An average loss of 4 - 6 lbs a month is good. You didn't put it all on overnight so don't expect too much from yourself.

Chin up, it does work, I promise :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Owens - you will love SW and it is a lot healthier than WW - I ate so many chinese takeaways and Subways on WW but I cook a lot more from scratch on SW and LOVE IT! Also the fact that you can still eat fruit etc if you're hungry and you've used up your other options ;)

    Hi owens
Roast dinners are one of my faves....:p you can tuck into a mahoooosive dinner on EE with meat and lovely veggies and guilt free syn free SW roasties a splosh of instant gravy would only cost a syn too ;) how fab is that :T

You can make a fruit roulade (1/2 syn for the whole cake) for pud and serve with sweetened greek yog.

I use my syns every night for a bit of choccy....a couple of cubes of dairy milk & a kit kat to keep my sweet tooth satisfied and having that to look forward to keeps me from bingeing thru the day too:)

I have to plan red days but not green - I love my green and would do anything for a green day - and it's only my second red day :rotfl:

Can anyone help with a silly question - I've heard people mention Savoury Mince (on the OS forum) - what is it and can it be red day friendly or does it have green veg in it?

    Thanks

    C xx

I dont know what the 'official' savoury mince is. But Ive been doing one just cooking the mince & onion& bit of garlic off with some fine diced carrott...draining it then adding half a veg stock cube & an oxo then enough water to cover and cooking it down til the liquid reduces.

I have it then with carrot and turnip mash or cauli with mad cow (HEA)melted on top (or both cos im usually starvin on reds lol :rotfl:)

i did the C25k 2 years ago - as much as i hated it i also loved it and altho it longer than the 9 weeks or whatever it is he says - i did do it and ran an offical 5k race but injured myself in the process and am only just getting back to running now

its very motivating - you think you cant do any more intervals then a little voice in your ear says run so you feel you have too !! you wont be able to walk the next day tho - just to warn you :rotfl:

i consider myself to be pretty fit - im a gym instructor and do alot of classes - step and dance type ones but when i started running again it took about 3 goes before it stopped hurting the next day

theres a C25K thread on here which may help you :)

Thanks Daisy, I'll have a look at that thread :)

Anyone have any opinions on eating late at night? I usually have my syns in bed watching a dvd around 10-11pm. Is there anything wrong with that? My fiance suggested having syns earlier and not eating so late, just wondered if that actually makes any difference or is a myth?

  • Tescos have offers on pears (£1 a bag) and celery (50p a head) at the mo and I'm sure others have similar offers.

In my tesco the pears were 80p and celery was 40p.

  • Well I had a good night at La Tasca. I had the veggie paella, spanish omlette, salad, 2 spoonfuls of patatas bravas and 2 slices of french baguette. Not sure on the syns, but I haven't had any today so, like I said, it will be a flexi day.

  • Thanks for your suggestions guys... hopefully I can figure something out. I like snacking on fruit as it's easy and yummy, just costly!

I did a bad thing and weighed myself on my friends scales today as wi isn't til wednesday, but if they are right then i've lost 2.5 pounds, taking total weight loss to 8 pounds since 25th august! my aim is at least a stone before 5th november so i should be able to do it.... provided i don't become careless and lazy again!

Hi Owens, if you are making proper roast dinners why not make proper gravy too, ditch those granules, they are just flour with brown food colouring after all. Use the juices from the roast meat (obviously, stick 'em in the freezer for ten mins to set the fat, scrape it off) and add any water from your vegetables, plus a stock cube or some marmite or Vecon or Worcestershire sauce. If you have time whilst the roast is cooking to actually fry (or micro-fry) some onions until they melt down and start to brown, add them to your gravy for the most exquisite and FREE gravy ever! I swear you'll never go back to granules. If you want to add a syn or two just slurp some red wine into your gravy while it is reducing.:D:D:D

Late night sweet? Either frozen choc a la DizzyK or pop a Muller Light Yog into the freezer for an hour or so.

eta: I did a quick google for real gravy recipes for you, instead of my blatherings above, and found there is a campaign to Bring Back Real Gravy - and a link to lots of recipes http://www.realgravy.co.uk/more_info.asp?current_id=57 all you have to remember is if they say to add flour either ignore it (and cook it down a bit longer to thicken) or syn the flour.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
