I was a diet cola addict too until about 4 years ago-I used to clear about 3lt a day :o and its not very exciting but I swapped for sparkling water -now on the odd occasion I pick up a small bottle when Im out n about I just can't drink it :j -it makes me sooooo thirsty...

After spending half a lifetime saying I'd never pay for water, I've become a real convert to sparkling water.

I have it chilled and in a wine glass and kid myself it's wine:rotfl:

Thanks for the lovely comments folks :p

Well done to Mr TakeItEazy :T

Yep-Dizzy those that I had had worse side effects than the ailments they were supposed to stop *not that they did* -and then it turned out that I had been misdiagnosed in the UK for 9 years :o.

Well so far -todays Green experiment has gone well -which is to say Im not hungry and nor did the pasta unleash my "carb monster" :j
Lunch was so nice and I just did pasta with peas n corn and sauted some mushrooms then threw it all in a pan with 2 laughing cow lights and stirred until it melted -nomnomnom :D and dinner was home made wedges with dippy egg and beans (on opposite sides of the plate ;))
I still have 3 triangles and 3 ryvitas, beetroot and gherkins oohhh and my iced coffee and a crunch corner yog penciled in that will still leave 4.5syns :j...

I can see green days suiting winter for me -I love potatoes n onions baked in stock and cornedbeef hash -so most of the ingredients will be free ....after this weeks experiment I will review and then perhaps mix the 2 up each week :D
I need to nip shopping tomorrow as I need more fruit n veg -so that should burn some cals -trundling there n back...
    have a great evening all

We only pay 19c for a 1.5lt bottle out here which is good because I clear about 3 bottles a day. I find that still or tap water just doesn't refresh like sparkling...

It's that time of year when there are plenty of green tomatoes in the garden that need using up. Anyone know any SW friendly recipes to use up Green Tomatoes?
    TIA
  • The hardest thing I find about the fresh fruit and veg is the cost! I can eat tonnes of the stuff if it's there, but I'm on a strict budget and finding that it's costing quite a lot to keep up with the fruit and veg. Any tips or ideas?

Do you have a market nearby? They are so much cheaper than supermarkets, but if not, you could try shopping either soon after the shops open or late in the day when they price stuff down. With veg, always go for the cheaper, seasonal ones rather than those that are specially grown out of season.

Tescos have offers on pears (£1 a bag) and celery (50p a head) at the mo and I'm sure others have similar offers.

Also, try the bags of frozen berries you can get in Iceland and Asda (not sure about other supermarkets though I imagine they all do them). They are really quite cheap (about £1 a bag) and are lovely on yoghurt or cereal/porridge.

  • Hi hope you all had a nice weekend.

Good results news from me again :j WI 2 this morning have LOST another 2 lb. :D

Haven't done any dedicated deliberate exercising though since Friday :o Really saddle sore so now desparate to find an alternative for the rest of this week. Also working on meal plans this week.

    Today -

Breakfast - Tesco Cholesterol lowering yog drink

Lunch - Missed :( (Went to collect a bed from Freecycle didnt get home till late)

Dinner - Tesco Light Choices Cumberland sasauges, mound of mixed veg, mashed potato and onion gravy.

Evening Snack - Fresh Raspberries & Blackberries with Tesco Lght Choices Fromage Frais & squeeze of runny Honey.

Will catch up on weekend posts after dinner.

Does anyone know how many Calories are in a bottle of the Tesco Cholesterol lowering yog drink (Orginal or Strawberry) ?

Also any suggested alternatives to exercising throught the day with little effort ?

    Thanks :)

    Have a positive week everybody!

One last one from me before I get back to work!

Can anyone tell me how they jazz up their plain couscous? I have it with salad bits (whatever is in fridge) but find it a bit bland. I have tried adding balsamic vinegar, which is ok but turns couscous a rather odd shade! I tried adding juice of half a lime today but could barely taste it. I make it day before and it marinades overnight in fridge. A deli I go to makes the most gorgeous minted couscous. How would I make that SW style?

I spray some veg, like onions, mushrooms, peppers with a weeny bit of oil and roast them, then add to couscous.

Ooh - congrats to Mr Takeiteazy!!

Didn't get on here yesterday (duff internet) so have just caught up. Won't post yesterday's, but here's mine for today

    Green
B - wholemeal toast (HEB), spread & plum jam (4)
L - masses of veg (beansprouts, carrots, onions, red & yellow pepper, garlic, peas, sweetcorn) in frylight & soy with boiled rice
    Shape zero yog
D - masses of pasta with sauce made with chilli, aubergine, tomatoes & basil & olive oil (2)
    sugar free jelly

skim milk in drinks (HEA), 3 cantuccini (yum!) (5.5)

Takes me to 11.5 for the day, but I'm ok with that.

I've still got 2 cantuccini to eat - which I shall enjoy when the DC are in bed. Shall have a pear, too.

Will sit down later and plan tomorrow's food - think that will be key for me
