Could anyone help with another query I have?

Really trying to stick to the diet, however in the past I have been a serial snacker with high sugar things like chocolate and crisps. trying to comletely cut these out for the time being but I do feel very shaky and constantly starving all the time even eating fruit. Has anyone else experienced this on starting SW and if so what helped and how long did it last? I really want to stick with this diet but sometimes I could kill someone for some chocolate!!! Thanks

I have only been doing this for 2.5 weeks (and probably only a few more day sticking to it than not sticking to it and I do feel a bit hungry and shaky after eating lunch or dinner but I already feel less inclined to eat chocolate... I've been eating it more for the sake of it because I can with my syns! Even on the days where I haven't followed it, I've still not gorged on chocolate quite as much sa before. Try having a fat free yoghurt or something to bulk up the fruit?
I have to admire you, Dizzy, because (as I confessed on here) last week I bought myself a Cadbury flake and put it into the freezer, checked the syns and decided to save it for another day. :A Then a friend turned up with a crunchie (and this is a friend who is most impressed with my weight loss and lovely new figure, they just don't THINK do they?) which I broke in half, ate half and put the other half in the freezer.:A

Before bed that night I'd eaten the other half crunchie (lovely from the freezer, btw :rotfl:) AND the entire flake :( I have no willpower so I just don't buy the stuff.

Totally agree, I can just eat and eat and eat chocolate! My consultant said a couple of weeks ago that frozen crunchies just go '!!!!!!' inside when you eat it! :p

Can I ask a question, I have fallen off SW.. and I am now 5months pregnant! However, when i went for a check up they have written on my notes 'problems- mainly due to high BMI'....I have a few complications but they are not weight related (i did ask!) but now i am worried by the comments!! I know if i get the midwife's ok i can rejoin SW, but has anyone done it? and how does it work? is it more about maintaining weight than losing it? (as i don't really want to lose weight, i just want to not gain loads more in the next 4months iyswim?!) TIA!

Food Optimising is perfectly safe while you're pregnant. My DD lost 2 stone during hers and had a relatively easy birth and a very healthy baby boy - the Doc and midwife were impressed :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I think this is the result of withdrawal from the sugar you're used to. Have a chocolate Options drink when the need arises - they're only 2 or 3 syns (depending which one you have) and they should help you get through. It won't last for long thankfully :)

SO.....I haven't really posted all week as I have gone a bit astray, although not entirely my fault:(

Since having the baby my totm seems to be every 2wks and VERY heavy, making me feel extremely tired and like crap for the entire 5 days, I am then only getting a 9 day break before going through it all again:(

I am going to force myself to get back on track tomorrow, no matter what. I weigh in on a Monday morning so as long as I haven't gained the whole amount I have lost back then I will be happy(ish)

    xx

lbnblbnb - I don't mind! I was going to ask for mushroom strog as that's the easiest to possibly have free due to the rice etc but I'm sure I could manage an ee day if I planned hard enough for a beed strog!

I found this one, which sounds pretty good. I might try it myself.
    Mushroom stroganoff
    INGREDIENTS
    227g/8oz shallots or baby onions
    426ml/ ¾ pt vegetable stock
    227g/8oz baby button mushrooms
227g/8oz assorted larger mushrooms such as open cup, chestnut and shiitake
    2 level tbsp tomato puree
    ½ tsp ground nutmeg
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
    113g/4oz very low-fat natural yogurt
1 tsp caraway seeds or 1 tsp paprika (optional)
    2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley

    1. Peel and halve the shallots or onions. Place in a large saucepan and add 142ml/ ¼ pt of the stock. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
    2. Wipa all the mushrooms, and halve the larger ones. Blend the remaining stock with the tomato puree. Pour into the saucepan along with the mushrooms, nutmeg and plenty of seasoning. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 10 minutes until tender.
    3. Serve each portion with a spoonful of yogurt on top, sprinkled with caraway seeds or paprika and chopped parsley.
    ½ on Green choice
    ½ on Original choice

Hi Dazzle, with ds3 I loosely followed sw throughout the pregnancy and only gained 1.5st throughout the entire time...by my 6wk post natal check I had lost every pound that had been gained....roll on 8mths and I had gained 1/2st (which I found out at my 8wk check for my pregnancy with dd)...I again loosely followed sw and this time only gained 1st.

dd is now 11wks and I have lost everything gained with her, plus an extra stone.....I am now 1/2st LESS than pre preg with ds3:D:D Only 5lb has been lost whilst back on sw properly:)

If I had followed it strictly I would probably have gained nothing/lost weight during the pregnancies. Even if you don't manage to stay strictly 'on plan' it is definitely worthwile as it is very easy to gain excess weight while pregnant;)

IIRC Catt they are 4.5 per bag but someone else will confirm. :)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Thank you everyone who replied.

Lynz-I am doing EE as i find it easier but i'm still not really sure what you can snack on during the day - i thought it was just fruit. Will try the suggestion with the cous cous as i love the stuff

dizzy- great idea for the chocolate I think i'll give it a try and knowing i've got that to look forward to might keep me going.

I do need to stick with this as i suffer with depression and know that all this high sugar foods affect the way i feel - on the subject of aspartame i read some very scary stuff  about this and now try to avoid it myself. If anyone loves there diet coke though Asda do one that is aspartame free. Not sure if it will be syn free though.

Any way thank you for the replies and wish me luck
