    Afternoon all

I'm undecided on what to have for tea. I really want fajitas but they will use all my 15syns (2 x tortillas, 2 x sour cream) plus 2 HEA's for cheese. I need to make some room in freezer and do have some SW friendly curry in there but to be honest it wasn't very tasty! :rotfl: So not sure I want bland curry for tea. It will be fine for a day when I want a quick meal so may save it for the week.

Flutterby, when you defrost your bland curry, simply add more spices to it - either a spoonful or two of readymade Madras mix or a big pinch of cumin/coriander/chilli etc whatever takes your fancy. Then give it a bit more of a cook to bring out the taste of the spices and it will be fine :D. Another idea is to make your own garam masala by grinding up a load of your favourite spices (google for ideas) and keep it in an old spice jar (not Old Spice the men's perfume :rotfl:) and sprinkle it on top of any curries just before serving as garam masala doesn't have to be cooked in the way other spices are (I understand)
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

I'm sure you've had loads of responses by now (not read very far yet) but imo sweet potato is nothing like regular potato, well, it's sweet for a start. It's ok though, although I never eat the skin on sweet potato for some reason - it always looks grubby. I bake it, then scoop out the middle . I always eat the skin on regular potatoes.

For a change for mashing I like celeriac or butternut squash; they can both be roasted or boiled/steamed as well.
Blackberry and Crispy, I always eat the skin of a sweet potato but I agree they can look a bit unappetising - sometimes I chop the end off as it can really look manky. I like the difference in texture between the skin and the flesh, I do it just like jacket spud and have it with cottage cheese and pineapple.
  • Well my dinner of fajitas was lovely. I think I have found a way to make it lower in syns....to use lettuce leaf instead of a wrap, I just need to work out how to get the lettuce leaf off in one go! :rotfl:

Evening all, my halo is back in place! Earlier OH's mum was trying to feed me freshly baked sausage rolls and biscuits but I said no. I then had tea followed by an apple and 1 finger of kitkat whilst OH tucked into plum crumble and icecream!!! I posted my mealplan yesterday so I won't do it again but I've had the following syns:

    Branston chilli relish - 1
    Gravy - 3
    1 finger Kitkat - 3

Tomorrow will be more difficult as I'm at a christening for 2 of my cousin's babies and I'm god mother to one of them. There will be a buffet afterwards and I doubt it will be SW friendly. I'm going to call it a flexible day and try to stick to plan the rest of the time. I'll have lunch before I go so hopefully I won't be too hungry and can limit what I eat a bit (yeah right!!!).

Its funny you should mention this.......last night I got a bit hungry (ive been finding this happening A LOT while doing Red days :o ) and found myself with my head in the fridge - again staring full on at the tub of kitkats  Mr PMT is due his monthly visit any day so Im on Fairy alert:o

BUT I got out some ham, 3 mad cow xtra lights ( 1/2 HEA2 ) and got OH to fine slice a spring onion. Then spread 3 pieces of ham with the mad cow, stuck a bit of onion in each, and a layer of lettuce then wrapped them up........OMG yummy and FREE :p
  • Morning everyone! Well done to those who resisted the fairies, I didn't do so well.... My willpower goes out of the window when I'm stressed and work yesterday was hell. Hello Greggs.... Still, I can see things are getting better. Some jeans that wouldn't do up last week, that haven't fitted since January in fact, now do up. They're tight, but still!

I did manage my porridge yesterday morning, so I'll do that again today. Not sure about the rest of my meals yet, too early!

Oh, and I made the sausages last night from this month's magazine. Meh. They were ok. Not really liking the extra lean mince in burgers and sausages. Just seems quite grey and hard. Will persevere tho, and experiment

I made the sausages and didnt follow the recipe exactly after the 1st batch.
I made some with just pork & fine chopped onion in and chopped chive......it seemed to break the 'choddiness' up of the meat and make them a much nicer texture to eat ;) and the flavour was lovely too! x
