Hello all
Thanks for the advice re the fajitas yesterday - I put the details off the pkt into the calculator and they were 9.5syns each - OMG!!!!! So I definitely had oneHeaps of filling and then some on the side with extra mushrooms.
Today is hgoing like this: (EE)
B - scrmbled eggs (2), mushrooms, wholemeal roll (HEB)
L - nearly sabotaged by Dh who did me egg fried rice in LOTS of oil. Gve it to DS and made myself a HUGE stirfry of super/free veggies and some chicken with s/free jelly and a syn free yog for after
HEA = skim milk
D -- hmm. we're off out for an Indian Thankfully chicken shaslick (sp?) is my fave anyway, so I shall have that - can't find a syn value thoughAs it's chicken and veg it can't be *too* much - 5 or 6 I'm hoping? Shall pass on poppadoms and have bhajis and salAD to start and water to drink (my usual)
It's Saturday and I'm craving something sweet - may have to have a yog. Saving choc as a treat for tomorrow. I know I can fit it in every day, but that's how I get complacent - I need to try and eat less of the stuff and find other stuff instead...
hmm - need some fruit, too, I guess - don't fancy some, but I'll have an apple....

Well -left to my own devices and I found myself wandering from room to room -well what I mean is from living room to kitchen and back again  ....... I think "bored maud" was visiting but do you know what -I kept sticking my head in the fridge before slamming it shut (not with my head in :rotfl:) and wandering off empty handed.... I actually have realised that I CAN distinguish between HUNGER and boredom etc :j -somehow I have got to 6pm having had my brekkie and lunch as planned and now Im not hungry for my dinner  so I will hold off and have it in a while
and I haven't had either of my yogyogs yet or my syns
ooohhhh and Just a few minutes ago I decided to do my measurements... I took them all the day before I joined the GYM and ohh ecky thump in 3 weeks I have lost 28cm/11" from all over -Im chuffed to little mint balls
Im glad I decided to do my measurements -I mainly did it because I wanted to have something to judge by incase the weight loss slowed down
OMG well done you! That's an amazing reduction in your measurements!! And well done for not raiding the fridge. I have moments like that when I just gaze into the fridge!MRSMCAWBER wrote: »Flutterby -have you tried making your own wraps? I make mine for 5.5syns each *if I remember correctly* -I have done them even pre-SW and I would never have ready made again:D
I haven't ever tried making them. Are they easy to do?

Oh, does anyone know if the Crosse & Blackwell tomato and herb packet pastas are syn free like the Batchelors ones?
On minimims someone has said that C&B have taken over Batchelors but both were in shops today.
The C&B ones are 35p in home Bargains, the B ones are 49p, hence me asking!

I am fairly sure I checked these C&Bones as they were on offer in iceland and were free on ee xx:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hun this is where Ive been too.
You have 3 choices as I see it
1) are you happier to be smaller? Or do you look "too thin" I don't think I'll ever look 'too thin' as have wide hips. I just worry I'm getting too obsessed with losing.
2) are you having your full quotient of HEA &B. ( ie the extra ones for maintainence) I fully intend at the start of the day to have extra a&bs but to be honest I struggle to have the ones I'm supposed to have sometimes.
3) my sister says if you dont want to have HEA and B extra then you should have a further 6 syns per day ie 16 if you usually have 10, or 21 if you usually have 15. this is the unofficial SW line. I really don't want to go down the extra syns route as thats what got me there in the 1st place. Also I don't manage to have my full quota of syns most days so extra wouldn't be used either.
Those are the options as I understand themx
Thanks for the info though, I will 'try' to include more a&bs and see how it goes. Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Thanks Ladies
I actually had someone I see occasionally ask me yesterday "why have you joined a gym? you are fine as you are" -now I know I have lost weight -but I still have about 5st to shift -so no way can I be considered "fine as I am" :rotfl:
Flutterbye -I have copied the recipe for the wraps over for you and YES they are very simple and they get easier the more you do them -its getting them as thin as possible that is the knack
CHEWY SOFT FLOUR TORTILLA
makes 9 @ 5.5 syns each
250g PLAIN FLOUR -44.5syns
1 ½ TSP BAKING POWDER
1TSP SALT
2TSP VEG OIL 4syns
180ml MILK -from allowance-
- put the milk in a large jug/bowl and warm in the micro and then throw everything else in and mix -saves faffing about with the proper recipe
- Once mixed -turned out onto a lightly floured worktop and knead for 2 mins
- Cover and leave for 15 mins -it won’t rise but needs to relax
- Cut into 9 balls (approx 50g each)Cover and leave to relax for 10 mins
- Roll each one out into a round -approx 8” -they should be really thin you will need a little flour, but not too much as A)they slide about instead of rolling
-we have to "pay" for the flour with our precious syns
- what I do is roll one, place a food bag over it and put the next one on top and layer them up so I can cook them all at once
- Heat a heavy non-stick frying pan (preferably cast iron)
- Drop in one tortilla and turn after about 2 mins -the surface should bubble -press down with a teatowel (watch you don't steam your fingers ) -guess how I learnt that
- Place inside a dry tea towel (just fold a couple of teatowels in 4 to make individual pockets) to keep warm whilst you cook the rest
I hope that makes sense (if not -just shout me)- they get easier the more you make them oooohh and as a final thought DON'T be tempted to use self raising flour in place of the plain and baking powder -I thought it seemed a good idea -but they came out as tough as a witches doodaawhen I tried it once
-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 - put the milk in a large jug/bowl and warm in the micro and then throw everything else in and mix -saves faffing about with the proper recipe

Wow MRSMC, the measurement reduction is brilliant, well done you!! :T
EE Meal plan for today: (I've been hungry)
1st B - banana & onken yog
2nd B - 3 x bacon, fried egg (2 syns for oil), baked beans
L - pasta/couscous/quark combo & soup
D - HM chilli with mushy peas mixed in & cheesy chive mash (HEA)
Snacks - quite a lot of fruit & maybe more yog later & fibre plus bar (HEB)
Syns - 2 for the oil, caramel snack a jacks - 5
The dinner was immensebut only because I added the mushy peas to the chilli (looked a bit weird but tasted fine). I'm a bit bunged up at the mo so I'm hoping the extra fibre helps!! :rotfl:
Have a good fairy-free evening peeps0 -

Can someone tell me please if a Sweet potato is a good substitute for a normal potato? Also what about root veg mash (eg, carrot, swede & parsnip), I am looking for alternatives to ordinary spuds to Bake and mash just to make a variety and meals more interesting when I fancy a change.
For a change for mashing I like celeriac or butternut squash; they can both be roasted or boiled/steamed as well.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!
