1lb loss for me which I'm happy with
My oh is making some sort of creamy fish curry for tea tonight, although instead of cream he's using yogurt and is using tofu not fish ( I'm veggie) but yogurty tofu curry doesn't sound quite as appealing lol!
Regarding risotto, I like to make a butternut squash and Stilton risotto. Fry off onions and garlic, cut butternut squash into bite size cubes and roast or fry in a separate pan, add rice and stock to the onions as per usual, then when the rice is nearly done, add the cooked squash and 28g of stilton (he b), stir and eat. I also found that Stilton freezes well if you can't get through a whole packet.
You can also use risotto rice to make rice pudding, sushi or anything that needs short grain rice.0 -

hello everyone. Just had (another) bowl of dynorod but added loads of chilli flakes and stirred in some quark and blue cheese before I ate it. Not bad, but not yummy. I had some on my lunch today too. Lunch was half a jacket potato and some braised steak and mushrooms, so I used the dynorod as superfree addition and thought "this is like a really thick sauce" - would a tin of beans, blitzed, be a way of thickening gravy for those who like thick gravy I wonder?
My pasta sauce is much like the ones mentioned above, often I add chilli to it (:) ), and if using tinned chopped tomatoes I always say "cook it a little longer than you think". This thickens and intensifies it. It's very simple.
The chicken cacciatore - I always thought that was chicken and mushrooms, and have just googled to confirm. The recipe has changed over the past 20 or so years apparently but the original italian one involved lots of mushrooms as well as the chicken. That would be a nice variation I would think.
Who asked about the creme fraiche/fromage frais substitution? I would say yes, go for fat free yoghurt or quark, but add it at the end and just heat it through so it doesn't separate. Though even if it does separate it isn't spoiled it will taste just the same.
And who said they'd "only" lost 3lb over 2 weeks? That's a perfectly good loss, it's above the average of 1 lb per week. Slow but sure is best, they say.
Well done losers, hugs for the rest and welcome to the newcomers!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Evening all
I had a lovely 3 days in London but it was totally not SW friendly!!However I still managed to lose 0.5lbs this week
Green day;
B - shreddies (HEB) with skimmed milk (half HEA)
L - jacket spud with beans
D - tortillas x 2 (12syns), cheese (1.5 x HEA), HM SF spicy tomato mix with sweetcorn, pepper and quorn mince, sour cream (3syns)
Snacks - pear, banana, ff yog
Drinks - coffee, NAS squash, water
Total syns = 15
I'm making some brocolli and stilton soup tonight to take for lunches. It's only got 60g of stilton in 4 portions so I'll have to figure out the syns shortly.

Yay - made it to my Club 10 today!!!:A Doing extra easy and am finding it not too bad at all! I'm one of the lucky so-and-so's that don't really get chocolate cravings so I haven't been using very many syns but I'm thinking that there's no real weight loss benefit in this?
Is there any easy way to search the thread for recipe ideas? Thanx!!A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit!:rotfl:
Joined SW 13/9/10 - wanted to lose 56lb and lost 26lb! Rejoined on 9/1/12 having gained 17lb of my loss!!!
Want to lose 50lb. 50 - 8.5 = 41.5 to go!0 -

That was me, I said that!
I am really pleased with that loss (I'm grateful I'm 'above average' on that one!), but my concern was after a dodgy weekend I was afraid I'd put that back on quite easily! Thank you for being encouraging, slow and steady wins the race!
WI tomorrow so we'll see then!
