Good afternoon one and all - well done on the losses :j

Its a lovely dry but sharp day out here -hope it stays dry, but I doubt it will rolleyes.gif
I have fettled the [STRIKE]chinese laundry[/STRIKE] spare bedroom, -so that should have burnt some wobble :p
I was a busy bee yesterday -as well as hubbies baguette/cobs (which I managed to get 4 huge ones in the freezer biggrin.gif) I made a big pan of soup and ooohhh nomnomnom it was leek, squash, chicken stock and a de-seeded red chilli -cooked and then blitzed .... oh wow it is so velvety n smooth -so now I have a 1400ml jug in the fridge so that is some lunches for this week and the rest Im going to portion and freeze *if I can find room*
Well then -hubby is having chilli(ticking over in the slowcooker as I type) -which Im not overly keen on so Im having an EE day that looks like this:-
    • 28g oats (B) +1 ryvita seedy
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • banana
    • 12 speed soup
    • apple
    • 2 clementines
    • activia intensely (2.5)
    • 8" yorkshire pudding (5) -using up the mix from yesterday
    • 1/4tsp oil (0.5) -to roast :-
    • carrots
    • onions
    • swede
    • turnip
    • raspberries, strawberries, cherries, blueberries
    • activia intensely (2.5)
So thats my 1A+Bs and 10.5 syns, Im trying to use more syns up and well -a yorkshire pud seems a good way to do it giggle.gif
Right I had better get off and get on with some more "recipe finding" ;)have a great day everyone...

Congrats to all the losses, and hello to the new joiners :T

Just asking for some recipe advice :)

Does anyone have a recipe for syn free tomato pasta sauce type stuff?

and also I tried making a vegetable risotto on saturday and it wasn't nice at all, I thought it smelt like feet in the pan too :o is there anything else you can do with risotto rice that tastes nice?

    Thanks in advance!

anyways, here is my food diary so far today - Green day

    Morning:
2 slices of WW wholemeal toast + butter (HEB) (1.5)
    apple

    Afternoon:
    chicken mugshot
    toffee mullerlight

going to have a pasta bake with broccolli for tea, probably with some salad and with cheese on top for my HEA. Going out tonight so i'm saving my syns for rum and diet coke :D

pasta sauce (my version) - red onion, red pepper and garlic, sweating in frylight, add tinned tomatoes (drained if you dont want it too runny), salt, pepper, oregano, a splash of balsamic and let it simmer and reduce. then add fresh torn basil leaves :)

rissotto - mushroom and chicken is devine, just add some mushrooms and soften with the onoin and garlic before adding chicken stock and dried herbs/seasoning to taste. cook for 20 mins then add flaked cooked chicken breast (usually leftovers from roast dinner) and a splash of milk (cream is not v SW friendly!) to make it slightly creamier

Also nice is veg rissoto made with veg stock then for the last 5 mins add peas, courgette and mint leaves!

H007 your hunters chicken is a lot more 'proper' than mine! I just cook then bbq chicken wrapped in bacon with a big dollop of melted cheese on top!!

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Been to the gym today for 2 hours so feeling good!

Had a quick induction and my blood pressure is down to normal now well was 137/70 really pleased with that as the nurse had noted it going up at the Doctors last 2 times I've been.

I told the trainer I had joined SW and he said that SW was the best slimming club as it allows people to eat good portions and not starve and he said SW with the gym is great:jmind you their scales seemed to weigh me a lot less than SW ones do but was the morning not the evening I guess!

lol had to google what hunters chicken was but i think i have found a version i can do but will leave out the wine (dont have any), garlic (yuk), celery salt (what the hell is this??) and sugar (maybe a little sweetener instead)
and also try to sneak in some extra veg too

    Chicken alla cacciatora

This is an old favourite - chicken cooked 'the hunter's way', which grants a certain amount of culinary licence. The addition of a can of cannellini beans turns it into a quick, one pot supper, but I also adore it with plain steamed rice.

    Ingredients
    Preparation method
    1. Heat the garlic oil in a pan and fry the pancetta, spring onions and chopped rosemary for 2-3 minutes.
    2. Add the chicken pieces, sprinkle in the celery salt and stir well.
    3. Pour in the wine and bring to a simmer, then add the tomatoes, bay leaves and sugar. Cover with a lid and leave to simmer for 20 minutes.
    4. Add the drained cannellini beans, if using, and simmer until the beans are warmed through and the chicken is completely cooked through.
    5. To serve, divide among four serving dishes

Sounds yummy! What are pancetta cubes and where would I find them in the supermarket?? thanks:beer:
  • You don't need to peel it... funnily enough I was having this convo last night at work as I LOVE LOVE LOVE roasted butternut squash.

Whenyou cut it open, itll have seeds inside, scoop those out, cut into nice strips and roast....mmmmmmmmm..... I'm having a roasty on sunday so I'm going to roast this with parsnips and carrots.

Any ideas how I can do roast potatos etc keeping it relatively syn free?
I parboil them then put them on a baking tray, sprinkle of salt and spay liberally with Fry Light, incidentally Tesco for some reason are selling the Sunflower Fry Light for £1.50

Pancetta is sort of fancy bacon, Italian I think. I find that ordinary bacon/gammon cubes can be just as tasty and invariably cheaper.

If you leave out the wine (use stock) and cook the spring onions, rosemary and some garlic in frylight, just adding ready cooked bacon later it could be syn free???? Oh and a bit of sweetner instead of sugar.
  • Am off for my WI in a few minutes so hope I have got back to target !!!

Made the GG soup and Dyna Rod as well.I understand what you guys mean, never heard such noises !!
