Glad you got 'em back - I'm always a nervous wreck if I park near a drain on a road, I just know that SOMETIME my keys are going to jump out of my hand and down the drain. I shall be calling on your hubby when it happens ;)

Right, due to a complete lack of inspiration what to make for this week's meals, I decided to have a go at Dynorod soup. Obviously, with there only being me, I didnt add everything that's recommended, but the ingredients I used are: garlic, onion (these two fried in a splash of mushroom ketchup to begin); tin of tomatoes, a quarter of a swede, a quarter of a butternut squash, 2 vegetable oxo cubes (these ingredients all cooked until tender-ish); a red pepper, a courgette (these two added to previous and cooked until tender). Then I blitzed all this lot along with the contents of a (yuck) tin of carrots. I then added a drained tin of green lentils and a drained tin of kidney beans.

I set out a small bowlful for me and heated it. Very dreary and I didn't like the lumps of lentil and beans. So I blitzed it all again, and added a handful of small pickled onions (as with p.o. soup, which I do enjoy). To be honest, it's not much better. And I have my BIGGEST BOWL full to the brim of the stuff . Dammit I think I'm gonna have to take it along to class on Tuesday and let everyone have a share; it's not doing it for me and even if it has the reputed bottom-area result I can't eat meals that don't taste good, it's a waste of a mealtime. Sorry, I sound like a moaner now, but it is DREARY :(

I added loads of black and white pepper and chilli flakes and it reallygives it a kick!!

I hate it when you make something and it's dull... seems like such a waste of food! :(

I have just found a very old Atkins choc bar in the fridge and I am going to eat it if it's not too synful! Please could someone work it out for me? Info per 100g is

    kcal 365
    protein 31
    carbs 30
    fat 17
    fibre 9

    Is that enough?

    Thanks

How much does the bar weigh in grams??:)
  • Jinnywren, I probably will add a load of chilli to my next bowlful - I am disappointed though as there's a LOT of stuff in it. Oh well, we live and learn!
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I have just eaten a ginormous (2 egg) yorkshire pudding with some chicken, carrots, broccoli and sprouts slathered in gravy.

    ::burp::

    What diet? :rotfl:
  • I've just made my sarnies for tomorrow - 2 x slices Nimble wholemeal as my b choice - 1 oz of cheese (a choice) mixed with onion and cottage cheese and 2 x laughing cow lights (a choice) spread like butter - yummy!:)
  • Our local Curry House does all your standard currys but with Quorn - wonder how much that would bring the syn value down by???
  • I had those new shape treaty yoghurts attack me last night - all 4 of them! came on unexpectedly too last night, so am hoping my synful food cravings and complete inability to resist them has been due to that (does this actually happen? I've been so long on the implant without periods I have actually forgotten :o The only thing I remember is the dodgy guts that I always get at this time of the month :o)

Just quoting myself here 'cos I could do with an answer - is it just my star week coinciding with a mahousive chocolate craving, (i.e. an excuse) or do people find their diet goes a bit pear shaped on star weeks?

I have been a tad naughty all week - can't seem to rein myself in from having stupid syns I don't even enjoy  e.g. last night I was house sitting and on the one hand I polished my halo for eating baked beans mixed with spaghetti hoops, (a childhood favourite and just about the only syn free food in this particular house :o) on the other I finished the evening with two slices of toast and butter, one with jam on  So I don't expect to be able to get away with it again this week. *sigh*
Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels

I wondered that too, as our local chinese uses quorn. Anybody know how to work it out?

Been craving mexican food but can't 'afford' the astronomical amount of points tortilla wraps cost (i tend to save them for chocolate!) - so I made a lasagne with layers of spicy mexican quorn (chicken) mix (with a bit of FF greek yog stirred in) and pasta, topped with salsa (2 syns) and 56g of proper cheddar (2x A choice) - it was yummy! :)
