  • I work for TGIs, i would set your upper limit quite high! There is a menu online, have a nosy and see what you want and i'll let you know if it is good/bad. They can do a steak with veg/salad or chicken with veg/salad.

I have had a look at the menu and i can see exactly why i should set my limit high!

I thought i might treat myself and have

Jack daniels sesame chicken strips for starter OR the cookie dough cheesecake for dessert - i wont have both as i will not be able to eat that much!!

New York Strip (rare) with spicy rice and house salad (no dressing)

Drinks - possible 1 June Bug cocktail and diet cokes all evening

When i look at that i think Ouch!! lol
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

I need some moral support please! I did SW 2 or 3 years ago and lost 2 stones. I then stuck at that but carried on going to group. After a few months I stopped going because I just couldn't lose anymore.

I followed the plan at home though and over the next couple of years only put on about 5 lbs. Last month I tried EE at home and lost 2 lbs the first week and the next week stuck at it again and put it back on.:(

I have decided to go back to SW at the beginning of November with a friend (but this will be to a different group because I didn't find the last one too helpful and definitely not someone who inspired or encouraged me).

I keep thinking about it and only a tiny part of me wants to actually go back again now. I love the SW way of eating, I love the recipes, I feel so much better when I am carrying less weight but I almost feel like I can't be bothered somehow.

I'd love to lose another stone or even 2 but it is so much harder to shift the weight when you're more mature. Years ago I could set a target to lose a stone and it would be GONE, no trouble at all but I can't do that any more, it is such hard work even to shift a pound.

I do plenty of walking, cycling, gardening etc

What should I be telling myself?

i was tghinking of having a chinese take away tonight ;).
i have looked on syns online on a green day egg fried rice is 4 syns for 300g and a chicken chowmein is 7 syns for 380g (they say this is an average portion), does anyone know how big that average portion is ? is it a normal chinese container full, or 1/2 a container ? any thoughts greatfully recieved :D

I know at my local chinese the chow mein portions are 790g and the egg fried rice portion is 500g.

If you have scales you're best off sticking ur plate on the scales and putting the amount of chow mein you want on the plate and work out your syns accordingly.

If i know i'm having chow mein i always opt for boiled rice rather than egg fried so i can use some syns on sauce :)
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

Hi don't know if anyone can help me but I am following the sw diet and it is going quite well I weigh less than I did when I started anyway to cut a long story short my 16 year old son could do with losing a bit of weight but doesn't want to go to class for undstandle reasons, if he was following extra easy does anyone know if he would get extra healthy options. Would love someone to advise.:j

Don't think my 16yr old would be classified as a child, being 6'2. Hes not overweight as he is at a rugby academy so does sport all day every day. Building muscle though :D.
I'm not sure about the unlimited HE's though, I could just see my son eating fibre plus bars all day as he loves chocolate and don't think that would be a good thing :rotfl:
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Hey,

I'm wanting to make some dyno rod soup today but i havent got all the ingredients. I've got - baked beans, onions, carrots, red split lentils, chopped toms, stock and peppers. Will that be ok or do i NEED all the ingredients listed?

It will be fine, you can add or remove any ingredients you have or haven't got/like or don't like. The basis of the soup is meant to be 12 speed foods, so you can use anything on the lists :)

I have a dilema, I love this forum but my new anti virus software keeps finding cookies that collects personal data from this site. The software is set to run a scan every hour, I have tried different things and the 2 sites that throw up are facebook [no suprise there] and this forum. I don't even have to be logged in, just visiting the site and I have a virus. I don't know what to do, as I really need the support from you lovely people or I'll be back to square one :(. Hubby says if I insist on staying then I shouldn't winge but I'm too scared to buy offline now incase my card gets hacked like my bank account did.

What to do? What to do?

    Ooh don't say that :(

I've been using this site for years and buy on-line all the time. Fingers (toes & eyes) crossed, I've had no trouble so far and would hate to think there was trouble brewing.

Your son can eat the same as you, 16 years of age is the cut-off point between being a child member and an adult one anyway so he'd be fine.

Men tend to lose weight very easily with SW and on the whole they tend to go for the Original (red) plan most but personally I think EE would suit the family best.

Make sure he gets lots of variety and he'll probably beat you to target :D

ok, so having decided to think about what i am eating i turn to my slimming world starter pack. in there is a 7 days to sucess extra easy menu planner. One of the meals in there is fish, chips and mushy peas, sooo where the super free food in that?

Well there's always one isn't there :D I think as someone else said, the fish, chips and mushy peas is just to prove a point that with SW nothing is banned.

When I have a meal like that (which I do frequently) I always make a big bowl of salad to go with it and I honestly think the cool, fresh stuff makes the fish and chips taste even nicer :p

Take a look on the website for a 7 day menu for the EE plan www.slimming-world.com
