Ive also bought a butternut squash never had one before so im thinking maybe make a soup of some sort??? My appetite is just soooooo rubbish at the mo but I think thats because Ive not been eating too much - and my body is getting used to it....NOT GOOD!!!! need to get it sorted out as my thyroid will start complaining straight away if I dont and make me get mahooosive lol
mmm butternut squash soup is a real comfort food and i would imagine it would be very easy on a dodgy tum too. I peel it - although you dont have to - and just boil with some veg stock, onions, whatever you fancy, and liquidise. Its a lovely thick gorgeous bright orange soup by the time you've finished, and its a speed food too!
To the person who was looking for cheaper speed foods - loads of vegetables are, including onions, so get making some veg casseroles or soups
I had those new shape treaty yoghurts attack me last night - all 4 of them! came on unexpectedly too last night, so am hoping my synful food cravings and complete inability to resist them has been due to that (does this actually happen? I've been so long on the implant without periods I have actually forgottenThe only thing I remember is the dodgy guts that I always get at this time of the month
)
Went to spooky world last night - it was so fun, its a halloween theme park set in a load of fields, and its adults only, so quite scary  must have burnt a few calories from screaming and running away from zombies
Here's hoping I can have an on-plan few days now. just had HM houmus for lunch (I'm out of ideas) and will prob have a jacket potato for dinner tonight. I'm trying to eat a bit more meat, as I've heard that digesting that keeps you warmer than digesting carbs - no idea how true that is!

My butternut soup recipe came adapted from Nigella... it's sooooo simple!
Chop up your butternut squash, chop up sweet potatos. Put in a roasting dish, spray with fry light and sprinkle with cinnamon and some dried chilli flakes. Roast at 180 for 40 minutes (ish). Put it all in a food processor and blitz... add stock to get it to the consistency you want. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Yummmmmm
On the subject of pasta - does anyone know why fresh pasta has a syn value? Dried pasta free and is wheat flour and water, Fresh pasta is wheat flour and eggs. Eggs are free. I just don't get it. I guess it's one of those weird anomalys.Well behaved women rarely make history.0 -

I think (and may be wrong) that fresh pasta has some oil in it. I once made pasta (back in the days when shops were closed on Sundays, and it was Sunday, and I wanted pasta - it was a lot of work and I've never done it again) and I have a feeling a spoonful or two of oil was added.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

I like scan bran topped with first marmite, then quark or plain yog, then slices of beetroot and cucumber, it's really nice (well, except for the scan bran, that'll never be nice)
PS just googled pasta and yes, a lot of the recipes do include oil. One had 2 cups of flour and 2 tablespoons of oil, so that's quite a high ratio! Some don't have oil but I think they would soon dry out on a shop shelf, it'd be ok if you were making it and cooking it right away.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Whenyou cut it open, itll have seeds inside, scoop those out, cut into nice strips and roast....mmmmmmmmm..... I'm having a roasty on sunday so I'm going to roast this with parsnips and carrots.
Any ideas how I can do roast potatos etc keeping it relatively syn free?[/QUOTE]
Just par boil for a few mins then drain and 'rough up' in the pan, sprinkle with salt & any other seasoning (rosemary & garlic is nice) spray a tin with fry light and spray your spuds *I also do sweet potatoes but dont parboil these. roast in the oven as normal......re spray when you turn them - lovely SYN FREE ROASTIES nomnomnom
Thankyou for the squash prep tipsx
Thanks Dizzy! So it's pretty similar to the chip method. Enjoy the bntsquash! I didn't get any for sunday as they only had whole ones and it would be wasted...Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Saw this and thought of you? There is a 20% off code underneath it too so it seems a good buy.
