I just made dyno-rod soup for the first time and I have to say it is absolutely gorgeous. I had 2 bowls straight off and am considering having a third. I will definitely be making it again.

    Hi Everyone,
What do you think? I am having a battle because If i join another group I will lose my 'status' if you know what I mean? '3 stone down' But then i think I am being ridiculous as really have no status as the weight I lost was over a year ago. Maybe a fresh start is what I need? To go back and aim for my 1 stone, 2 stone etc in another group?

I haven't been in the situation before but I would go for a clean break. At the end of the day, the goal is for you to lose weight and feel better about yourself - you can't keep going and shelling out the money if you aren't getting anywhere!

Also, my nosey self wants to know if your nickname is a reference to the same band as mine ;)
  • Grrr just lost what I wrote!

    Green day:

B - oast (HEB), ff yog
    L - pasta with pesto (1syn), 2 x HB eggs
D - pasta with HM SF spicy tom sauce, cheese (2 x HEA)
Snacks - apple, pear, jelly (1syn), LF creme fraiche (1.5syns)
Drinks - water, coffee, NAS squash, soda water

    Total syns = 3.5

I will be MIA til Monday as I am going to London for a girlie weekend tomorrow. It will not be SW friendly! But I've saved 40syns so far this week towards it so finger's crossed the damage won't be too bad ;)

    Hi Everyone,

I'm just looking for a bit of advice. I joined Slimming World around 2 years 9 months ago. During this time I managed to lose 4 stone. But over the past 12 months by weight has slowly crept back on, i ahve been very up and down. One of the main reasons is because my Grandma died and other family issues. I am still attending the same group as I always have done, but I am not enjoying my group anymore and have felt this way for a while. It could be because I am no longer losing every week.. but the group itself is going a bit stagnant? Not sure if thats the word hope you know what i mean. The consultant started another morning group on the same day which means now our group in the evening only has about 20 people if that, sometimes a lot less. It used to be about 50/60ish. I feel my loyalties lie with this group because they helped and supported me during my weight loss but now I feel I need to move on. I am now just under 3 stone down but I am thinking of joining another group and going for a clean start all together because I have been at the same weight now up and down for 12 months.

I bought a countdown weeks ago, but I haven't even attended my group in this time. I haven't even contacted my consultant. I was thinking of packing it all in but then I realised I am only hurting myself because If i come off the plan completely i will put this all back on. I have basically chucked my money away buying a 5 week countdown, but I have to make a decision do I go back to my old group tonight and carry on, or do i go for a clean break and join as a new member at another group? :/

Anyone been in this situation before? xx

Yep - I have. Sort of.

I was with my group for a year and a half but never felt hugely comfortable with the dynamics. I lost 6 stone though.

    Put one back on...

Decided to go back - but decided to try a fresh group to see if it was more 'me'.

I lost my 6-stone-lost status and actually haven't mentioned to my consultant how much I've lost (she knows I've done if before though). I don't mind - it gave me a fresh start and a new target to get back to my lowest weight.

And though the group follows much the same format (which I do find monotonous!) there's something about the consultant and group members that makes it a more enjoyable experience.

I say go for it - you're not getting anything from your current group and it's natural for your relationship with your group to change as life changes and you change. It's okay to want to start a new relationship somewhere else.

    Just my two penneth.
