    Hi Everyone,

I'm just looking for a bit of advice. I joined Slimming World around 2 years 9 months ago. During this time I managed to lose 4 stone. But over the past 12 months by weight has slowly crept back on, i ahve been very up and down. One of the main reasons is because my Grandma died and other family issues. I am still attending the same group as I always have done, but I am not enjoying my group anymore and have felt this way for a while. It could be because I am no longer losing every week.. but the group itself is going a bit stagnant? Not sure if thats the word hope you know what i mean. The consultant started another morning group on the same day which means now our group in the evening only has about 20 people if that, sometimes a lot less. It used to be about 50/60ish. I feel my loyalties lie with this group because they helped and supported me during my weight loss but now I feel I need to move on. I am now just under 3 stone down but I am thinking of joining another group and going for a clean start all together because I have been at the same weight now up and down for 12 months.

What do you think? I am having a battle because If i join another group I will lose my 'status' if you know what I mean? '3 stone down' But then i think I am being ridiculous as really have no status as the weight I lost was over a year ago. Maybe a fresh start is what I need? To go back and aim for my 1 stone, 2 stone etc in another group?

I bought a countdown weeks ago, but I haven't even attended my group in this time. I haven't even contacted my consultant. I was thinking of packing it all in but then I realised I am only hurting myself because If i come off the plan completely i will put this all back on. I have basically chucked my money away buying a 5 week countdown, but I have to make a decision do I go back to my old group tonight and carry on, or do i go for a clean break and join as a new member at another group? :/

Anyone been in this situation before? xx

Good afternoon all -hope we are all well..

well done on the losses ladies and gents :T

Its cold here again -and yesterday we had more hail .... I guess winter is here already -glad I have a good store of stuff in the basement, I like to keep a good supply of stuff in just in case we get snowed in -which here wouldn't be that difficult :p although at the moment Im running out of room :o and later I get the "joy" of emptying the freezers and doing an inventory *please someone remind me to keep updating this one* -and I REALLY REALLY must stop buying food ... me thinks I have developed a slight addiction -ahh well at least there is no chance of us going hungry ;)and at least its not junk ..

Well hubby is on duty today so he just popped back about 3pm for a brew, a shower and his toiletries etc and then went again and be won't be back until about 10:30am tomorrow... so Im only feeding myself today ...which means a Green day for me:D
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 1 pear
    • 1 apple
    • jacket potato
    • cottage cheese
    • beetroot
    • activia intensely (2.5)
    • fresh pineapple
    • 50g (dry weight) pasta
    • leeks
    • onions
    • peas
    • sweetcorn
    • 42g low fat cheddar (B)
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 1tsp camp (0.5)
    • 1 fibre plus bar (B)
    • fresh pineapple
    • activia intensely (2.5)
Now then -thats uses my 2A+Bs and 5.5 syns -but I will try and squidge in a few more syns this evening...

I want to get my meal plan for next week sorted -I will do the freezer inventory first and then I can attempt to use up some of what we have ;)

ooohhh and the slow cooked chines pork was a hit :hello: -and another on the "must do again list" -that list seems to be getting quite big :p

oooh sorry I can't remeber who asked about the different fonts/colours etc -but you need to click "go advanced" when you are writting and then you click the A to change clour and the boxes for different fonts/sizes -hope that helps

Foofighter -If its "do-able" I would swap class and start with a nice clean sheet -then no-one knows your history or what you have been through, which means you don't have to be that person ;) -does that make sense :rotfl:
Have a great day everyone ... will pop back in a momnet with the chinese pork recipe ;)

    Hi Everyone,

Anyone been in this situation before? xx

I've not been in your situation but several 'new' people joined our group today. Actually most of them weren't really new but had transferred from another group. While no details were really mentioned it was implied it was something to do with the times suiting them better but it could have been something else as there were rather a lot of them . I'm telling you this because it would be easy to make an excuse if you don't want to come out and say you've gone off the group. Also, it was said that they weren't new to SW and how much they had lost since starting at their previous group so that covers the 'status' thing IYSWIM.

I can see it's difficult. I've only been going to SW for a month but I can see already that the pattern of meetings is very 'samey'. I have a few ideas (recipe swaps, sharing good offers on free foods from local shops etc) but don't think I should mention them until I've been there a bit longer and lost a bit more. I wouldn't want any 'regulars' to feel I was patronising them. On the plus side I have met some nice people and sharing with them is motivating. A bit like coming on here.:D

On the even more plus side (or I think that should be minus), at WI this morning I'd lost 3lbs in the past two weeks. Considering I've been on holiday for 5 days of that I'm very pleased. That's 9lbs in 4 weeks and my very first half stone award.:j

    Im baaaaack :p
So here is the recipe ... I have tweaked it and turned it from "braised" to slow cooked to make it a nice easy meal...let me know if anyone wants the oven cooked version and I will add that bit too
we reckon it reminded us of char sui pork/spare ribs -nommy

    slow cooker Chinese pork
serves 4 -although I think its too much ;)

    RED/EE -2 syns per serving
    1. 2 cloves garlic -grated/crushed
    2. thumb size chunk of fresh ginger -grated
    3. 2tbs soy sauce
    4. 3tbs dry sherry (or rice wine) (3)
    5. 1 star anise
    6. 1tsp 5 spice powder
    7. 1 cinnamon stick
    8. 2tbs brown sugar (5)
    9. 1kg pork shoulder -fat removed and cut into chunks
    1. mix 1-8 together in a large bowl
    2. throw in the pork and mix-cover and stick in the fridge overnight if possible
    3. the day after tip into the slowcooker and switch on (don't add any extra liquid)
    4. cook until tender -remove the star anise and cinnamon stick
    5. then drain the liquid into a pan and reduce by half, add the meat back in and heat through
Now then -when I did ours what I did was do it to number 5 -then at the same time I had a vegetable stir-fry under way so I then fished out the hot pieces of pork and mixed them through the veggies and reduced the liquid in the pan down until it was all thick n syrupy and drizzled it over...
    Hope that makes sense :D
