Now here's a poser, I absolutely love trifle and I'm looking for a SWish trifle recipe for christmas. So far managed to cut syns by replacing regular jelly with the sugar free stuff and not noticed too much difference, does anyone know which custard is the least synful and wether i'm better using real cream or scooshy cream?

Completely taking out the cakey layer and doing a layer of chopped strawberries and bananas instead to cut more syns.

For the 'cream' topping try mixing white choco options with quark, ff fromage frais & sweetner - tastes amazing for only 2 syns for whole lot!

Not sure about custard - prob best to look for the lowest fat one you could find - or try to make it yourself (recipe from net somewhere) but replace cream with milk etc.

  • Just popping on to report ANOTHER not so great day. A big chunk of baguette jumped into my mouth accompanied by a heap of red pepper humous  It was very delicious and did curb my craving for bread!

Breakfast = 28g fruit & fibre (HEB) 250ml milk (HEA), coffee
Lunch= Asda chicken & mushroom pasta & sauce (2), onion, lettuce
Snack = The dreaded but delicious baguette & humous (??)
Dinner = Pork, new pots, carrots, swede, brocolli, peppercorn sauce (3)

Snack = Fruit & sugar free pop

It would of been a good day too if I didn't have that slip up, oh well better than yesterday I reckon.

Hope everyone is doing better than me, will come and have a catch up when ds is in bed :)

Don't be too hard on yourself - we all slip at some point - as long as you eat lots of super speed food; you'll probably be okay.:)

Incredibly worrying, i have been so stressed all day! If there had been a problem she would probably have been in surgery tomorrow, on top of that i have an important exam tomorrow:eek: Have been very good and not used the stress as an excuse to go off plan. Making up for the pizza yesterday:o

Quick question - does anyone have an Actifry? Are they worth the money?

My mum has one and her chips always look amazing when they come out ;) If I had room here to store one (and saved up some pennies) I would have one for sure You have to use a spoon of oil but its still loads better than a normal fryer (Im wondering tho if you could spray the chips with frylight??)

    Hello ladies!
Just thought I'd pop in and update you on a lovely dessert/snack I made. French chocolate toast (3syns)
Use your HE bread and dip into eggs mixed with options hot choc powder then seal in a saucepan, add loads of chopped strawberries, blueberries and rasberries. Hmmm mmmm. Chocolate eggy bread!
  • I have one of these for breakfast which are b options:

    28g Kelloggs Bran Flakes & 1 x Ryvita original
28g Nestle Shredded wheat (honey or plain) & 1 x Ryvita wholegrain crackerbread
28g Kelloggs Optivita Raisin Oat crisp - this is my favourite - could eat it every day!:D
28g Weetabix Mini's cereal (any variety) & 1 Ryvita wholegrain crackerbread.

I usually have these with either some blackberries or a kiwi chopped up and a Muller light yogurt as I'm not keen on milk.

Could you batch cook your evening meals at the weekend and then freeze them down for during the week??

    HTH

I do that with my lunches for work Ali, so I don't want to do it for evening meals as well - I do need a bit of variation! I already do the allbran plus yog plus fruit for breakfast sometimes, but thanks for the suggestions! I read through one of the little booklets today and made a couple of notes: kippers and scrambled egg and "grilled" (ie microwaved) tomato was one that sounded good, I'll have that tomorrow.

I can no longer get onto SW at work, not even at lunchtime when we are supposed to be able to, so I've prepared myself a little excel chart with columns for superfree, free, hea, heb and syns - then at the weekend I can enter into the online diary but still keep tabs on myself. Gotta rush, off for an Indian meal. will read other posts later ...... whilst quietly burping :rotfl:
