    Hi

Going to Wetherspoons tomorrow night for tea to meet a friend, we use to go to Pizza Express but I asked her if the pub was ok as Pizza is such high syns. She does SW on/off so is happy,

I could have a jacket spud and beans/dressing free salad but I do like the sweet potato and chick pea curry with rice, cant have nann as contains dairy. Anyone know roughly would a veggie curry and rice be really bad?

Can't think of anything else on the menu other than the jacket as those 2 dishes are the only vegan options I think. Oh the tomato soup is ok but I dont know how to work out syns and got WI Thursday night.

    Thanks:)

Just looked up on the SW website what a vegetable curry would be from an Indian restaurant.

Basic/Non Branded Foods Indian Restaurant, Vegetable Curry, average portion 380g serving

Thanks:) I've just been on the Wetherspoons website and they have a good calorie planner where you can add up the nutritional values of your meal.

    Jacket spud/beans/salad - cals 514, protein 18.3, carbs 111, fat 1.9

Chick pea and sweet potato curry - 917 cals! 29.8 protein, carbs 150!, fat 22.9! thats without nann:eek:

Having had a takeaway curry at the weekend maybe I should have the jacket and beans, salad and diet coke, could take some soya cheese as a HEB or make some SW hummous to go with it.

The tomato soup seemed ok too - 140 cal, 5.6 fat, 3.5 protein and 18.9 carb. Don't know portion size so can't use the SW calculator.

Main reason is to chat with my friend but I have to work out my food options when eating out!

Will be a good change from my old meet up meal of dough balls, whole pizza and a couple of beers or a bottle of wine at Pizza Express:o

well i have changed groups we have a brand new C .
she is lovely , took the whole group back to basics and went through the whole book with us as a group today which was great.

anyway , she told me it is entirely up to me if i have 5-15 syns - NOT just stick to 10 like the old one said.
if i had been told this in the beginning i don't think i would have got myself quite so stressed over it all.

A good Consultant can make all the difference to how you enjoy group and ultimately to how well you manage your weight loss.

I wonder if you misunderstood when she told you that you had to have 10 syns as I would normally say to new members "you should have between 5 and 15 syns every day - most people tend to aim for about 10, then if you make any errors with your adding up, you should still be within range".

All the instructions are in your food optimising book and it plainly says in there "enjoy your 5 to 15 syns a day".

I'm glad you're enjoying your new group anyway, and a 'back to basics' chat is handy every so often for everyone :)

    Forgot to say I weighed in at 12st 11lb, that's 6lbs on in about 5 weeks :(

Don't worry about your weight at the moment. Try to eat healthily simply because it will give you more energy to deal with all the bad things that are happening. Things will pick up eventually I'm sure and that will be time enough to worry about following a plan.

Good luck, I hope it improves soon for you all :)

someone on face book has just given me an idea, potato wedges (with fry light) with quark (maybe with onion and garlic added as a dip. This sounds so yummy

Quark is wonderful for taking on any flavour you add to it but it's much better if you mix it up the night before you want to eat it to allow the flavours to mingle really well.

calorie amount for a jacket spud, beans and salad seems high, wonder if they do something to the salad, or if that includes butter?

I've just e mailed Slimming World to ask whether they could put the syn values of Weatherspoon meals on their website. Will let you know once I hear back.:)

I've not been to Weatherspoons pub for some time; but I do seem to remember that they put some oily dressing on the salad; even when you ask them not to!
