  • Wootball, what is split training?

i'm not following slimming world yet but i'm copying all the tips and recipes for when i start. i lost 3lbs this week and went to zumba tonight even though i was shattered but i really enjoyed it.

worst still is that i have a power plate and home gym and haven't used either in over a year:o

Split training is a weight lifting and body training technique used to allow continuous heavy lifts without over fatiguing and straining the muscle groups. It's essentially grouping the muscles so that you can go multiple days without needing to fully rest, since the muscle groups each only get worked every few days despite doing heavy lifts every day.

Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

That's 2 stone, 10.5lbs in 12 weeks. Not bad, wanted to lose 3 stone in these three months but I'm happy with the progress. I'm lifting weight and measuring strength too, so I know it's not muscle being lost which is a huge, huge danger on any of the 'plan' diets.

This is not something you need to worry about with any of Slimming World's plans if you follow them properly, adding a little Body Magic, but you can lose lean body tissue (eg. muscle) when you follow 'starvation' diets.

As has been pointed out many times, exercise will help to build muscle and tone your body and building muscle helps to regulate your metabolic rate, which in turn, helps your body to use more calories even when it's resting.

Several pages back someone asked about Joe's sausages - sorry I forget who it was and I'm sure this post is too late now, but they are lovely. We ordered them in group a couple of times since you have to order quite a lot, but everyone was happy to buy more.

    Hope that helps :)

  • some really excellent losses..:beer::beer: WELL DONE everyone especially skintslimmer with a whopping 6lb - excellent :j:j:j

My WI this morning and I have lost 2lb (well it says 2.2lb but I am keeping the figures rounded) I am really pleased.

I didn't eat enough last week I don't think as I missed some A's & B's.... so it could have been more than 2lb maybe?? Will try to fix that this week now I am getting back into the swing of working.

    Today - Green
    B - Rice pudding (A)
L - Veggie soup (nice and thick and more like a stew) (F)
    D - Buffalo Chicken (2+B) Rice (F) Veggies (F)
    Snx - 4 ryvita (B) 2 x triangles (A) Curlywurly (6)

Well that is the last of the curly wurlys that OH bought back from England last weekend. He bought 2 pks of 5 and we've had one each every day... I'll miss them. Might see if someone can send me some over.

Oh... any ideas how to keep seven 7 & 8 year old Polish kids under control (who don't speak English)?? I am introducing a behaviour chart today which worked well last year but open for more ideas off the teachers out there.
