Hi
I am thinking of joining Slimming world online.
Does anyone know if you still have access to the same website as members who attend meetings every week and get a password?0 -
Lost half a pound this week but I did eat a full dinner literally 10 mins before weigh in!
Food today
breakfast: starbucks tall skinny caramel macchiato (HEA? lol)
lunch: baked potato and tuna with free mayo and salad
dinner: chicken tikka balti (9.5 syns), boiled rice, can diet coke and fruit salad for dessert.0 -
I know this looks like I'm picking on you but it's a post that I see in various guises often on slimming threads on various forums.
Just what does SW and other plans do to educate people to stop this cycle of having blow outs? The attitude of having slipped so might as well pig out and then start again is precisely why people have size and weight problems isn't it? All these plans seem to do is make people think about it so much more.
I've avoided doing any kind of slimming plan because, well people seem to be too obsessed with points and days of this colour and that colour when slim people - well they just aren't.
Well I am now a size 8so i dont think i have really a size or a weight problem but I do have an emotional eating problem that has been handed down to me courtesy of my mother
I wish to break that chain before I have a daughter who does the same.
I am at target and im also going through pretty stressful time. I have always gone for the food in times of stress altohugh I have to say since SW I am so so so so much better than I used to be: I am addressing that in my own way at the mo.I dont go to classes but my sister is a consultant and she says its very widespread. As is husbands and partners sabotaging weight loss too.
I think starting again tomorrow is more about your own mental new start, however sometimes thats more of a turn of phrase than anything:
today has been for me:
IE: 5x maryland cookies
banana and yog
quorn burger lettuce bread (HEB)
dinner thai chicken curry ( paste F) (chicken F) sugar snap peas (SF) onion (SF) Peppers (SF)but the coconut milk is 3.5 per table spoon do I have to allow minimum 7 for the coconut milk.
Most people in the "real world" will eat a lot worse than this most days. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

But there's the difference though you see, we aren't naturally slim people and therefore we have to make an effort!
Slimming World teaches us to eat in a healthy manner - what we do with that information once we have it is up to the individual.
Many people are emotional eaters - some eat (to excess) when they're sad, some when they are happy. This is a quirk of nature and not something we can do much about.....what we CAN do is try to control what we eat at these times, hopefully aiming for fruit rather than biscuits.
However, there will always be times when even the slimmest of people will stuff themselves with chocolate (or whatever their choice of 'sin' is) when they're feeling hormonal or just downright cheesed off.
So, in answer to your question "Just what does SW and other plans do to educate people to stop this cycle of having blow outs?" we are given the tools to deal with it, sometimes we use those tools wisely, sometimes we don't - just like normal, slim peopleI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Wow, the Quorn Southern style burgers are YUMMY!! I was a bit sceptical as i had never tried them before but i am a total convert I dont think anyone would guess it wasnt chicken either! They are definitely worth 2.5 syns.
I know they are great arnt they! I think the difference between them and the chicken burger is the lack of suspect gristly or grey bitsHave you also seen "poppin bites" they are 3 for the whole pack or 1.5 for half which is plenty with a dip
I also bought "southern style strips" today from Iceland ( £1 for the bag!!) does anyone know how many syns these are each?

Help!! After 4 weeks of being good, I have today fallen off! Had no choice about lunch as I was working away out of office environment with packed lunch provided. I did give away the choc bar and pork pies, but only sandwich available was cheese (swopped to get brown bread with someone) and I ate the crisps and hot sausage roll. Thinking, "oh I have done it now" I came home and ate some apple crumble and custard plus 8 cheese thins crackers.
I have no idea how many syns that is?
How can I get back on track, I am now starving!0 -

hiya Sand,Welcome?
i'm a size 12 and only 6lbs short of my target, when i met my now husband he stopped me being so stressed and anxious,i was a single parent and worked too so never stopped still enough to eat and was an unhealthy 8stone and a size 6-8 with bones poking out,not nice, well my husband worked and took care of the finances so i wa able to find out what that hot thing in the kitchen was about, and i learnt how to bake. 2 and a half stone later i realised i had to do summert about it,he married a sexy skinny girl and was now sharing a bed with a fat wife. i'm 5ft 3 so 9 and a half stone will be a healthy weight for me. i find it useful chatting here, its very friendly,do you use Slimming World? would you?0
