Well done Bobcat! Keep going and you will lose more and more. That is the great thing with SW that you can eat real food and never need to be hungry.

Lost 2.5lb this week and got slimmer of the week! Not bad considering it's that time of the month and i feel like a walking bloat lol.

    Hi everyone,
Had my first WI this evening, and I lost 1.5lbs! At first I thought, 'What, is that all?!' but actually, I'm really pleased now! I've never eaten so much food I enjoy in a week and lost weight! :j
Plus it was my first week, so I was adjusting to new eating habits and ideas etc. This week I'll drink more water, as not been too hot on that tbh and continue not to feel guilty about what I'm eating!
Thanks for all your help in my first week!
Hope you are all losers too (in the nicest possible way of course!).
    Bob Cat xx
Well done. Also that's a really good attitude. Not everyone has a huge weight loss in the first week but with your positive attitude then you'll do well. Just stick to the plan and you're guaranteed a loss. x

Well done to all the losers today!
I had the burritos from the World of Flavours book tonight - delicious. BUT thanks to whoever spotted the size of the tortillas used in the recipe - I have had to adjust my syn total for today.
I have the potatoes mashed and in the fridge for the gnochi for tomorrow - I love gnocchi so it will be interesting to see how they turn out. Cheap recipe too.

    Hi all:j

Not been on here for a while, now back & keeping on with SW. Have lost a stone & have kept it off despite being off the wagon for a while. I'd like to get down into the 'next stone' if I can, that's another 6 1/2 pounds I think so should be do-able.

Just a couple of questions if I may - has anyone tried Joe's sausages/grills & can they recommend them? I usually have Quorn sausages, with 'ordinary' ones for DH. Now my daughter has joined a SW group & she doesn't like the quorn ones, so I thought if I got some of the Joes ones she might like those better & they are syn-free, also handy as being a student she won't do too much actual cooking! But as you have to buy a lot at once, I'd like to know what people think of them.

Also, are there any SW cook books that you can recommend? I think someone mentioned a curry one a while back, but I'm not sure now. DD goes to group tomorrow so any advice would be most welcome - TIA if you can help:D

Think I might try adding a tsp of sesame oil to the next lot of hummous - the syn free one is fab but a little dry. Can't eat fromage frais or quark as vegan so used a couple of tablespoons of soya yoghurt which seemed to work.
Alison, I find it dry too so I always reserve the liquid from the can of chickpeas and then add a little to soften it up to the preferred consistency. The sesame oil (in my opinion) is a must, for the sake of 2 syns (for the whole lot!) you get a much more authentic taste as real hummus is made using tahini paste which is ground sesame seeds I do believe.

I suppose it depends on the sort of food you like to cook, but quite a few of us have just bought the "World of Flavours" cookbook (via an offer posted by a kind person on here). Everything I have made from the book so far has been lovely.
I have the curry book and it is good, but I would only use it twice a month at most, whereas the world of flavours book is more useful every week.
If you look back through the posts you would find the offer, might still be on?

Do anyof you do yoga? Just started doing Astanga and boy was I hot and sweaty after! Good fat burner!

Also I am getting slightly obsessed with pasta n sauce! I rarely eat processed food but am all over this like a rash.

On the subject of *that* qoute, I was a bit shocked when I saw it posted too as have long associated it with eating disorders and pro ana sites (I used to be on them) but I guess people are free to do and think what they want with it.
  • well done losers, and commiserations to the rest, next week will be better! I lost another pound, in spite of having extra HEBs every day so have set another 7 lb target, to get me into SINGLE FIGURES (not single fingers as I wrote at first, where is my mind?) perhaps by Christmas.

The World of Flavours is good, and Guns&Banjos mentioned the stifado. I made that at the weekend in the slow cooker and it's fab. Would make again. Of course, it will take me four days to eat the four portions, not counting tomorrow because Wednesday is always the second half of my WI (Tuesday) night treat of tandoori mixed grill :D. I'll be interested to hear how the gnocchi turns out because I've never made that, but I do enjoy eating gnocchi.

I think it's time our Martin got a look in :money::money::money:
