    Hi fellow SWers!!

the weekend involved a girls night out clubbing in the amazing place that is Basildon! lol. This can only mean that i drank far too much and had a stinking hangover sunday!! On a more positive note i did equivalent of 5 hours body magic (1 hour tae bo saturday morning and 4 hours dancing!) After all the crap i've had to go through this last month that night out was v v welcome indeed!!

Hehe good to see another Essex girl on here - hope you had fun in 'Baz Vegas!' and have recovered from your hangover by now! ;)
Well after saying earlier that I was freaking out that I wouldn't have lost anything, I actually managed to lose 3lbs!

In total over four weeks I've lost 10.5lbs and I'm delighted I've finally broken into double digits.:j

    Well done!!! :T

I had some pic n mix last nght so went over my syns, but not too much so shouldn't be a disaster.

Today I am doing Green (basically because I forgot to get meat out the freezer!)
Breakfast was handful cherry toms, handful chopped mushrooms, and a fried egg on a toasted ww roll (HEB1)
Cups of tea throughout the day with 1/2 HEA1 milk (measured into a jug so i can be sure)

Lunch might be soup if I have time to make it, or I will have cous cous and veg

Snack will be fruit (plums, pears and grapes) and Ryvita (HEB2) and 1/2 HEA1 laughing cow

Dinner will be vege burritos taken from the SW book but adapted a bit according to what I have in the kitchen (using kidney beans rather than chickpeas, for example) covered in HEA2 cheese -- 5.5 syns on green for 1 serving (1 burrito)

Hope you're all having a good day so far :)

    - I do keep remembering what someone said a while ago 'is that chocolate bar worth it, or do you want to be slim'?

I like the quote from (I think) someone on Celebrity Fat Club a few years ago

'Nothing tastes as good as feeling thin.'

At the moment I'm enjoying the loose feeling of my trousers against my waist:o It beats chocolate for me!

Back on the straight and narrow today - i CANNOT give up - i know it works, just need to stick with it!

Going for success express for most of the week - well. . . . going to follow the rule of 2/3rds superfree - but i will still be on green days - it makes sense to me!

I might even go fast forward if i feel the need to and have everything in the cupboard!

Good luck & Well Done x

Sorry to hear things aren't working for you atm nessie, but as you say you must stick with it. For newbies like me, I think by success express you mean extra superfrees but what is fast forward, please?
  • Congrats to the losers, hugs to those who put on.

I havent been to wi for a couple of weeks, I'm going tomorrow. Unfortunately I've gotten back into the habit of snacking late at night and at work. Last night I had crisps, chocolate and horlicks before bed, didn't want them, wasn't hungry just craved them. When I weighed myself at my friends the other day, I think I had lost 3 pounds but now I'll be lucky if it's a pound. I'm so annoyed with myself - I do keep remembering what someone said a while ago 'is that chocolate bar worth it, or do you want to be slim'? But it's just not working right now. I guess it's because I can't see that I've lost weight and don't feel it's working, even though I know it is!

I too am a late night snacker and still do. I always try to make a treat/pud for after dinner and then eat it about 9pm when my snack attacks occur so all still within plan... I have recently been saving my choc fix for night / curlywurly last night mmmmmm.

what I am saying is you still can have your snacks at night just try to keep them within plan, don't deprive yourself. The other day I baked a rice pud and mixed in a little milky way so it all melted it was like having a big bowl of actual chocolate rather than chocolate flavoured something.

I always thought that was Kate Moss who had said that, lol. I disagree tho which is part of my problem lol, I'm really glad it works for you maman.

You have lost 3st10lbs Nessie which is awesome, so so good, that's like a dream for me. :T

Vent away tho, I completely get the frustration, it's tough going but you should congratulate yourself on sticking with it through the hard times.
  • I am coming to the end of week 2 of no bread and I must say it has be much easier than I expected. When starting I had visions of my feelings of Atkins (about 10yrs ago) but of course it isn't the same as I still have my carb fix with pasta and rice. My ryvitas have been a lifesaver too. I feel much better leaving it out of my diet, much less sluggish and I intend to continue as a matter or course now. I will still have the very odd pizza base or tortilla as I love enchilladas.

    Today. EE
    B - nothing I forgot (Opps)
    L - Carbonara and salad
D - Mexican chicken with steamed veg and rice.
    Snx - 4 rvvita (B) 2 triangles (3) Rice pudding & curly wurly (A+6)

Have a great day everyone xx

I find myself doing that almost by accident, I am so used to EE that when I am doing green I still have 1/3 superfree, and this week I am going to try to make it 1/2 or 2/3 as I really need to kick start myself again!

    Good morning all

well done on the losses ladies -and hugs to those having trying times.. keep on going -we WILL get there :j

Thanks Chardonnay - I have been doing SW for 25 weeks now... not sure where the time has gone as I feel like I have only been doing it a few weeks :j -guess it means I must love SW :rotfl:

Well, we got the shopping done last night -so thats THAT out of the way for another week *hopefully* ....
Anyway -yesterday my La Redoute order arrived ...although they had sent 3 items a size smaller than I ordered, so Im just waiting to hear back from them,,, I know I can keep them for slimming down into -but that doesn't give me them to wear now -when I need them does it!!! -
anyhoo of the stuff that arrived in the right size -most of it fits and I actually tried on one outfit and "wit woo" I love it..here is the top -that is SOOOO not me.. but you know how sometimes you see something and think "ooh I like that" -well this was one of those items..and it looks great on -well I think so :p
    2-in-1 Poncho -
I put it on with a new pair of tailored trousers -(need to shift a few more lbs off the belly to make the best of them) ... but I tried them on with my heeled shoes and I loved it... I plan on getting some heeled boots to wear with it. Hubbies jaw dropped when I came down :p ...
Now we just need to plan on going somewhere so I can wear them :D -Im thinking my Birthday ..ok its not until December -but thats the plan... everything will fit better by then too ;)
So thats another boost to keep me going :p.... every time I open my wardrobe and see pretty things hanging up it just spurs me on -even the stuff that doesn't quite fit properly yet..;)

So then -today is a green day and is looking like this:-
    • 28g oats (B)
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • banana
    • apple
    • 12 speed soup
    • plums
    • activia zesty (2.5)
    • home made cheese n potato pie (A) nommy
    • baked beans
    • frozen berries
    • activia intensely (2.5)
So thats 2A+1B and 5 syns ... I will decide what to do with the other B and some syns later.....

oooohhh the sticky lemon chicken was a hit -but I think it needs a "tweak" -here is the original...
    sticky lemon chicken
    serves 4

    2 syns per serving -red/EE
    1. 1tbs honey 2.5
    2. juice 1 lemon
    3. 250ml chicken stock-I used 1/2 a chicken oxo
    4. 1tbs soy sauce
    5. 4 chicken breasts -cut into chunks
    6. 1tbs cornflour 3.5
    7. 1tsp oil 2
    8. 2 carrots finely sliced
    9. 1 red pepper-cut into chunks
    10. 140g sugar snaps
    • mix 1-4 in a jug
    • toss the chicken in the cornflour to completely coat
    • heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan, then fry the chicken until it changes colour and starts to go crispy around the edges
    • add the carrots and peppers and fry for 1 min more
    • pour in the liquid, bring to a simmer
    • add the sugar snaps and bubble everything for 5 mins until the chicken is cooked through
Now I didn't use sugar snaps but I did add some broccoli toward the end -ooh and some spring onions at the same time as the peppers/carrot.
For me I think it needed a little less lemon -but when I thought about it my lemon was a doozy ... so perhaps an average lemon would be right :p... but the chicken was so tender and juicy..so it will be a "do again"

Im going to sit with yet somo more magazines this afternoon and pick out some more recipes to try -which of course I will share if they are good...
Right Im off for now..have a lovely day all and keep at it!!!

Thanks, success express is the same as extra easy but have 2/3s of your plate of superfrees and you have extra healthy extras but you don't take the lowest syn value of something - you take the highest!

I will just aim to have my green days (old school me!) with more superfrees.

Fast forward is a plan given to me by my consultant i tried it for a couple of days earlier in the year - it is like a straight jacket - i will only do it again if my consultant agrees as it is very limited & nothing is free!

This time next week i will have been with SW for a year!

Mini target - loose 4lbs for next WI so i can say i have lost 4st in a year!
