Hummus
3 tins of chickpeas, drained
Juice and rind of two lemons
Salt
1 fat clove of garlic
Tub of syn free fromage frais or Quark
Blend all together
Keeps well in the fridge for 3/4 days.
The cannelloni from the "World of Flavours" book (p.74) was really great. My husband loved it, even after I told him it was low fat.
I have the falafel from page 116 baking in the oven now, they smell wonderful. I used a can of chickpeas and halved the rest of the ingredients, I haven't got time to be cooking pulses in the week. I just whizzed it all up in the food processor. I love falafel but deep fried they must be a syn nightmare. These ones are free! I will be having them with fat-free plain yogurt and a big salad of tomato, cucumber, small amount of sliced onion, balsamic vinegar.
Good luck everyone,

On a more positive note i did equivalent of 5 hours body magic (1 hour tae bo saturday morning and 4 hours dancing!) After all the crap i've had to go through this last month that night out was v v welcome indeed!!

Think I might try adding a tsp of sesame oil to the next lot of hummous - the syn free one is fab but a little dry. Can't eat fromage frais or quark as vegan so used a couple of tablespoons of soya yoghurt which seemed to work.
Got a friend coming round Weds eve - I use to put on a spread of crisps and dips but have said it will be SW hummous, carrot sticks and fruit - she use to do SW so will be quite happy with that, I might even push the boat out and get some breadsticks:rotfl:
I am so stuffed as greedy me finished off the rice pud - the milk from that was yesterdays allowance so might have todays as a hot choc later as not had many syns yet ( 1 vege sausage (1) plus a soya yoghurt (2) Don't want to miss out on my calcium!)
Also realised I've missed my HE B today and am too full now for anything else at the mo.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

I'm back from my holidays and getting stuck into being good since i was soooo greedy when i was away!
Its weigh in night tonight, hopefully i wont have put on too much weight, i did do loads of walking.
anybody know any good detox meals, that are nice and light but filling?
thanks!
Try the green goddess soup I mentioned, thinking about it I didn't add any herbs but fresh paresley would have been nice. You can use organic stock cubes as they'll probably be better for a detox. Other than that just any stews or soups made with fresh organic produce really, just go easy on the potatoes and use brown rice if you feel you need some carbs (also great for filling up on).
AlisonT, I made some houmous tonight with minced garlic sauted in veg stock, (I'm positive you can get vegan stock) and 2 tins of chickpeas blitzed up, and 1/2 a lemon - I just used as much stock as I needed to make it the desired consistency, and i must say I am VERY impressed with how it has turned out. I do, however, have about a tonne of it to get through now, so can I come and eat your breadsticks please?! :rotfl:Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
Well after saying earlier that I was freaking out that I wouldn't have lost anything, I actually managed to lose 3lbs!
In total over four weeks I've lost 10.5lbs and I'm delighted I've finally broken into double digits.:j0 -

after eating one monday at a friends i was a bit more aware of speed foods last week and lost 1.5 lbs :j
only prob i have now is the sw website has told me i haven't been to my group lately so they are about to delete my membership.
i moved groups about 3/4 weeks ago - would you say they haven't registered me properly ?
the website still lists me as being at the old one but i can't seem to change it anywhere
i have just tried batchelors cup a pasta - i thought they were a bit nicer than mug shots and some are free on green and ee
i'll pop back later to see if anyone knows the answer xx
by the way that was my 1/2 stone award today only took 11 long weeks !!!0 -
Thank you so much confused and congratulations mummyof5.
It doesn't matter how long it takes, you are doing it and doing really great. Slow weight loss is easier to keep off too.0 -
