I tried the SW syn free houmous yesterday as we had brought one of those hand blenders - fab:) my previous blender never coped with making houmous but this was so easy and tastes so nice! Only problem is I like breadsticks with houmous - carrot sticks are not the same!

    Today:

B - Magic Porridge and fruit

L - some leftover pasta and homemade syn free sauce with salad

D - SW chips, beans, mushrooms, toms and a veggie sausage

Snacks - tub of fruit salad, banana, apple, might have some SW rice pud later as not used my milk allowance today.

Thanks hun. Does it actually taste of butter? I'm not a huge butter eater either but I do miss it on toast or for pasta. Mmm butter !!!!!! moment!
it would work on pasta (or vegetables or jacket potato) but not on toast unless you mixed it with something vlf such as quark and then it still wouldn't really be like butter as it wouldn't melt through ;)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it is 11 syns for whole cake - the scan bran syn value has changed and this is an old recipe! Sorry
Hi, thanks for this, didn't realise it was an old recipe. Must say that even at 11 syns for the whole cake it was well worth it.

Well done all losers and welcome to all newbies.

Have been away all weekend and it's taken AGES to catch up with you all but have managed it.

Keep up all the good work. x

  • I have waaaayyy too much soup - its a good job its all healthy!

Thanks for the recipes. I made broccoli & spinach (which I have now re-named green goddess soup, as it is just so VERY green! and saintly :A Not 100% sure what was in the original recipe posted on here, but mine I think was more or less the same in the end... had garlic and onions, stock and broccoli and one potato. All cooked until broc was aldente, then baby spinach leaves added and all whizzed up.

Anyone know if that will freeze ok, or will the spinach go icky (it is whizzed up but still, not too sure? I do hope it will freeze.... there's 4 buckets out there full of the stuff!

That was supposed to be the smaller quantity soup :o Dyno rod is also on the stove - am VERY concerned about storing that one, since I've only put in 1/2 the ingredients so far (thought I'd be clever and add a butternut squash and whizz up so its got a thick and creamy base, then add and cook the chopped veggies) and saucepan is nearly full  i'm running so very low on tupperwares - and I'm a person who normally has waaay too many!

Today has been super good for me so far. An apple, 2 nanas, 2 hifi (B but doh, supposed to ease back on that for a day or 2) and a bucket of green goddess. A bucket of dyno later on and I'm done :D
