Hello,
Well done Mrs M and gunsandbanjos - very inspiring!
I have fallen off the wagon yet again. Really need to get back on track. In my defence it is my birthday this week and we celebrated it last night. We went to the beach today, really lovely day but no lesson planning or meal planning done! eek! Will have to get to school early tomorrow. I think I will meal plan this evening.
Found some delicious sounding recipes to adapt to SW:

I am thinking of baked tomatoes with frylight instead of the olive oil, the baked pears with stevia and the cream could be quark instead? Any recommendations ladies?

I've finally had to google Stevia as I hadn't a clue what it was, and now I realised I once rescued a little struggling plant from a garden centre, and reading the Wikipedia entry I'm sure that's the same one I looked up at the time. It didn't live long, but it gave us a lot of entertainment getting people to eat a leaf, they really are very very sweet!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Evenin' all.....
I tried posting earlier but somehow managed to delete my post, and shut down the internet!!!
Well, last night's visit to the pub turned into 24 syns (6 small wines)..., however, I had only had one syn that day and none the day before so I think I am OK. Today the slimming world halo has been a-glowing....
B - BAcon, mushroom, tomatoes, eggs, Mr Ms sausages (1)
Snack - Mugshot
L - Roast chicken, roast potatoes, carrots, leeks, green beans gravy (1), stuffing (2), yorkies (2 - Bessies minis). HM Rice Pud (HEA)
T - Am still very full, so shall see how I go, but got HEB left, may have Fibre plus and drink later
So, all is well here.
Well done everyone on losses and shineys:j
Hope the SW halos still shine for everyone...

hello all
my SW book and Jamie book came today - have decided to make 2 or 3 SW recipes during the week and 'treat' myself to a Jamie recipe at the weekend! (minus the ridiculous amount of oil he uses!!!) Both books are amazing, loved sitting and reading them today - feeling really inspired!!
Hope you all had a good weekend - be back tomorrow with my meal plan! Just going to dig through the SW book to plan dinner!!
PS - very pleased to see burritos in the book, i will definately be using that recipe as i used to love making them but cut back coz of the high syn content of tortillas - but this says only 5.5 syns per burrito (1 tortilla) so it's totall do-able!!!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

We had all the roasties, potatoes, parsnips, sweet potatoes etc and...................trout :rotfl:
I bought a bag of curly kale to have with lunch, guess what I just found at the bottom of the fridge. Completely forgot about it and had cauli, cabbage & carrots from the freezer [fresh stuff I had frozen]. My 'sometimers' has been affecting me big time this weekend
.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

My World of Flavours book arrived yesterday, really inspiring.
I have the cannelloni from page 74 baking now, but I used romanesco brocolli instead of the spinach (blanched it and chopped it quite small to fit down the tubes!). Smells lovely.
Evening meals for the rest of the week (all green):
Flan (page 33) but done with leeks instead of tomato and courgette with potatoes
Ratatouille (page 35) but with marrow instead of the courgettes and aubergine, with rice
Gnocchi (page 77) but with added baked butternut squash in the sauce
Burritos (page 200) with wedges or rice
That will take me up to Thursday, when our veg box will be delivered.
Lunches will be either canteen baked potatoes and beans or I might make mushroom soup.
I might have a go at the Spanish orange cake on page 68 for my birthday cake to take into work.
I do love cooking (and eating)!Grocery Challenge (2 adults 2 kids)

I'm a complete newbie blackberry-rum but I do agree with what you say about EE (with the exception of dripping, condensed milk, suga sandwiches:rotfl:)
As for an easy way of describing EE, I've been doing EE for just over 2 wks now and (while it depends on the choices you make) I feel I'm just tweaking my previous way of shopping/cooking/eating. I only have 1 large slice of bread a day and limited milk (HE choices) but after that it's really just as easy as using fry-light, keeping away from things that contain cheese, flour and sugar and eating loads of superfree veg and friut. Personally I like wine syns (and the odd bit of gravy) but each to his own.0 -
Hola!
Where do you get these butter buds from? Can you buy them in supermarkets or only online? They look AMAZING!
Had a good two days with apetite coming back (damn). Had SW style fry up Sat and Sun, pasta 'n' Sauce for lunch yest followed by my new SW friendly dessert obsession-Crushed meringue nest in M&S count on us chocolate mousse-6.5 syns and so worth it. Today had a roast with fat trimmed off beef and veg roasted in fry light and plenty of steamed veg followed by two pieces of Lindt chocolate.

Maman: I agree with both your points!:D (but back in the 50s and 60s more people didn't have cars than did, iyswim, so I think we got more exercise to work off the dripping sandwiches!):jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Now for the report on the World of Flavours Stifado. Excellent. I tasted it after about 6 hrs and it didn't seem right, but I took the opportunity to ladle out more of the "thin" liquid and replace it with the thickened liquid, and at that point added the lemon juice that's supposed to be added at the end (we are talking Slow Cooker here!). I prepared my vegetables and ate them (with butter buds but without stifado) and let the stifado cook for longer. I did end up thickening the remaining liquid with a spoonful of Smash, and of course there are the slightly strange bits of mashed up scanbran in there too, but all in all it is rich and dark (say nothing, girls :rotfl:) and very very tasty. Good job, three more meals to go with it.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
