quick post as I have a horrid headache and intend to switch off soon. Ive been away on holiday and pretty much eaten what i wanted all week. Despite the fact that we were self catering, we still ate out loads be it breakfast/brunch at the local cafe or dinner in the pub. I did make some sensible choices but not as many as I would have liked....

Im ready to get back on plan though and do my xmas tree challenge of getting back to target. :j

Out of interest, I visited some relatives on my way home today and was given some home made jam. I also bought some chilli jam while I was on holiday and a banana and chilli relish. how should i syn all of this ?

Am wondering how to syn my hot choc?

I'd only want a mug about twice a week in winter but there is no nutritional info on the pack?

Its Montezumas dark choc drinking choc - only decent vegan one I've found it's just made of dark choc so should I try to work out the syns from dark choc or cocoa powder? Only need 3-4 teaspoons in a mug of milk whihc Il use from my allowance.

  • Yes, Nickynoo, all alpen lights are HEB.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • Jam: 1 level teaspoon is 0.5, 1 level tablespoon is 2 syns, on all days. Reduced sugar jam is also 0.5 for 1 level teaspoon, but 1.5 for a level tablespoon. I haven't a clue where to look for relish, but much the same as jam I expect, as it has sugar in it.

Skintslimmer-have you been tested for Coeliac disease-so many people suffer & don't get diagnosed? I think the bread for us lot is foul'but the pasta is quite good so long as you don't overcook it. Risottos are good. what's wrong with the microwave?

    Hi there :)

I haven't been tested for coeliacs - mainly because when I cut out wheat for a week I was feeling much better within a couple of days, and felt terrrible with stomach pains the day I had quorn (~which I wrongly assumed was wheat free) - having read up about it the general consensus is I'm a bit wheat intollerant but not coeliac since with that apparentnly you wouldn't feel better inside one week. have since found I can tolerate wheat and dairy once a week - maybe more for dairy - so presume I just needed to detox them a bit and need to be careful not to overload my system with either.

The microwave thing is because I'm a reiki therapist, and being interested in energy I have read things from several different authors who claim microwaving does things to food that makes it bad for us (can't now remember the technical stuff personnal but a quick google reveals http://www.encognitive.com/node/4093 and http://www.relfe.com/microwave.html ). Again, its not somethng I'm religious about, having twice today eaten a microwaved JP :o but on the whole if there is a choice I try not to.

Good day today - no syns until tonight :o But I'm still within - phew!

    Apple and 2 bananas

    JP with bacon (B) and cheese (2 x A) - 1/3 of plate salad.

Had a "make a hot chocolate from a mars bar" competition with a colleague (I won) and I only had a teensy tiny sip of mine before giving it away to a skinny boy :A (1 syn)

Dinner was a JP and cottage cheese, beetroot & houmus (B)

I then got a bit of a chocolate craving, and couldn't be bothered to go out to the car where I keep my stash of low syn choccy (hurrah, my cunning plan worked!) but instead rememberd a mini tub of ben and jerries in the freezer (oh no it didn't!) (14 syns but worth ever moresel!)

I'm happy with that, especially as yesterday was a low syn day.

Not done any body magic though. Not sure how I feel about that - I already work as a barmaid which involves walking and standing on your feet for 25 hours a week, and muck out horses for 4 (which is flipping good cardio IMHO! :rotfl:) so Do I need to be moving more - consultant31, what do you think?
Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels

Food has been bit rubbish today, glad I don't count weekends :D
    B/L - weetabix milk [a] coffee [got up late & wasn't hungry]
T - chinese  [veg chow mein, 2x tbsp special fried rice, cantonese s/s chicken 3 bits + all the veg & sauce]
Snacks - now gonna have melon & apple with onken
Syns - only whats in the chinese so hopefully within limit although only had 36 all week.

Made cheesy pasta bake & will have it for couple of lunches next week presuming I can freeze it anyone know if I can? If not will have it tomorrow as no room in fridge :o.

I find pasta doesn't freeze that well, as in a previous post I freeze the sauce and just cook fresh pasta The exception being lasagne.

Keep moaning we'll listen  going off plan for a few days is'nt a problem as long as you realise it, the problem is I find lying to yourself and blaming the plan for either not losing or gaining.
Don't you find all the appliances conk out at same time:eek:

I'm not sure who it was that has ordered herbs for a colon cleanse bu can I just say be very careful of ordering pills/remedys from the internet. About 4 times a year I have a colon treatment and take advice from someone registered with these people http://www.colonic-association.co.uk/Wales.htm

You should never be messing with such an important part of your body without advise from someone who is trained.

Green and blacks organic hot choc is 1 syn per tea spoon so you could use that as a guide?
