cooee all, one pound loss for me tonight and as I am at target that's ok (in fact, more is ok by me as I shall then set my target a bit lower but I am keeping that a secret from my ever-piggy mouth
). It seems to prove what my friend said, a blow out helps if your weight is static. Two parties, my home made blackberry and apple meringue and my SW version of chicken liver pate seem to have done some good! :T
Anyway just nipped online to enter it into My Journeyand from next week 13 Sept apparently members will be given a PIN each at class to use to access the website instead of a password that everyone uses. That's good as it means I shan't have to keep muttering the password to myself to remember it :rotfl: they've been able to do this now all the groups are online cos they know who is signed up etc. They are asking target members to go to weigh-in at least every four weeks to keep their accounts open (because the weight I gather will be automatically marked in their online account, but I could be wrong about that bit). Well I thought I'd mention it in case anyone on here is a target member but hasn't been to group lately.
:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Scorpioles, well done ... but SW don't encourage you to have NO syns. I can't remember why, probably so you don't get dejected and rush out for fish'n'chips or something. But give yourself a little treat. I'm sure someone said losses are better when you have around 7 to 10 syns a day.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Thanks blackberry I'll bear that in mind trouble is I'm not a chocolate girl or sweet tooth my " treat" would be a glass if red and it's too tempting to open a bottle!!! I allow myself a glass or two at the weekend0

you can also use syns in things like
oil- olive oil dressing for example
sugar or syrups in a coffee
using flour in cooking ( eg a roux sauce)
My sister (Sw consultant) reports people who have less than 5 syns per day will never lose weight - im choosing to believe her!:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Wow Nuninge, your losses are so great! You have done well to talk yourself round. I would love to be losing at the rate you are. What does your plan each day look like?
Liz
Hello lbnblbnb,
I'm really pleased with the rate I'm losing but as I have so much to lost it is really quite proportionate. I'd be happy with a pound a week if I only had a couple of stone to lose but have nearer to 4 times that so I think my weight losses are about right.
I think the key to my success is that I write absolutely everything down on a food diary and hand this in every week. Our consultant actually marks this for us which appeals to the teacher in me!
My success over the summer was partly due to being on summer hols and having time to plan what we would eat for dinner every night and shop for it. During the day I can normally find something to eat but in the evening I need a really good stodge fill you up kind of meal so that it is a couple of hours until I start using my syns. I normally try to stay syn free till after dinner, then I feel like i cna have a bit of a blow out with a penguin and an options hot chocolate on the sofa!!
Now I am back at school, my meals may be quite same-y but the routine of the school day will help. This was today's menu:
Extra Easy:
Breakfast: Oats so Simple porridge (HEB) made up with water, topped with strawberries and raspberries. Coffee (made all day long with milk from my HEA).
Snack: 1 ryvita wholegrain crispbread (final part of the HEB) topped with sliced cucumber and salt (nom nom nom!)
Lunch: Packet of Heinz 98: Fat Free Noodles sweet thai curry flavour. Lots of pineapple (so much in fact it made my mouth go numb for a little while!!!)
Snack: Apple and Nectarine
Dinner: Spaghetti bolognaise made from spring onion, garlic, lean beef mince, tinned timatoes, worcestershire sauce, mushrooms, tabasco sauce, fry light, oregano, beef bovril, tomato puree and a bit of rose wine (!!!!!other half was making this from what we had in!!!! to be fair it was yummy) and lots of spaghetti. I topped this with 25g cheese (slightly overestimated to 4 syns). I then had an Options hot chocolate to fininsh for 2 syns. To be honest there are probably a few syns in the meal as the mince was lean not extra lean, the tomato puree and the wine but probably hasn't taken me over 15 and since I handed in my food diary at clas tonight and don't start a new one till the morning I don't have to write it down anyway lol!
Hope this is usefull / interesting to you.

hello everyone
really hope dizzy is ok , sending best wishes xxxxx
i have been to weigh in today (missed last week) and lost 3lb
quite chuffed with that , my first real loss,but i think it is because i haven't had time to exercise much at all.
i have made the decision to change groups though as my consultant has no time for me as in her words "you are slim and don't have much to lose". she refuses to advise me on any of it so i am jumping ship to a consultant recommended by a close friend.
i am also jumping for joy today as i passed my module 1 bike test , which i failed this time last week , so really happy. just got to conquer module 2 now so i can lose the l plates :j
back to work tomorrow , should make things easier for me as i will be out all day and not able to pick all day long0 -
Decided to do a quick cost up for the tuna macaroni cheese I made tonight - someone was asking further back about cheap meals.
I used:
* 500g pot low-fat natural yoghurt (0 syns - checked SW website) - 44p Aldi
* 2 free-range eggs - 33p Aldi (box of 6 for 99p)
* Quark - 70p Tesco (used full pack)
* 300g Macaroni - 30p Aldi (500g packet cost 49p)
* Tin of Tuna in springwater - 62.5p (pack of 4 on offer in Tesco approx £2.50)
* 84g cheddar - 45p Tesco (400g block was £1.99 on offer)
So approximate cost for 4 good size adult portions was £2.84 (& a half pence)
Had mine with about a quarter of a pack of mangetout from Aldi (79p for the whole pack).0
