I am head of faculty in a high school (English, Media, Drama, MFL). I love it but it is hard to keep a balance between work and home! Also has given me an excuse not to look after my own health for too long.

My brother used to work with the Prince's Trust (he was an education officer with the youth offending team) and he thought what they did was great. Will the cuts affect you?
I do love teenagers, but the pushing the boundaries thing gets so wearing, especially if I am not feeling 100%.

Finger's crossed the cuts shouldn't affect us. I adore my job :D but it can be exhausting, which has me reaching for the wrong food at times! I've gotta be super organised with taking food to work cos some days I have no idea where I'll be throughout the day! I'm also doing a part time PGCE (Post 16) as well! I must be bonkers :rotfl:

Best of luck with the PGCE. It is bl**dy hard work, but so rewarding. When I have a tough lesson/day/week (!!) I sometimes think of getting another job, but then I think what would I have achieved at the end of the day? For me it is important to feel I have made a difference.
I'll get off my soap box now....

I enjoy working with teenagers with LD, and our adult students but yes it's not a stress free job - am glad I'm there in a support role so dont have to do all the paperwork!

Very, very, jealous of all you teacher type people:p

Stressed tonight, so gonna go to bed and read (cook books:o) If I can't actually spend time cooking then I am either watching cookery programmes or reading cook books, I am only 30 too:cool:

I work with the littlies 4/5 year olds although have contact with the rest of the school too [primary] but littlies is my main job. It is very tiring and I often feel exhausted at the end of a week. Its all observations and then coding the observations, oh the joys of foundation stage :D one of the perks is the free fruit for schools though :rotfl:
can't believe how stroppy some 4 years olds can be, they don't respect teachers/adults like we did, I wouldn't dare of spoken to my teachers like they do these days.

    Food today:
    B - weetabix milk [a] coffee
L - mugshot, wm roll , toms, pepper, activia
    T - sw chips, onions, toms, beans, t/sauce [1], oil spray [2]
    Snacks - banana, apple, pineapple,melon,apple,activia
    Syns - 3
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

I work with pre birth to 18years - previously I did 16-25 and I have enjoyed them all, my favourites are either the 16 - 18 range or the under 5's, but its not an easy week whichever group you're working with.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.
