    mmmmm that sounds amazing!!

Ive got some chinese five spice in from the Chinese wholesalers so going to stick that in with some pork this week.

I am on the facebook group, very handy for tips etc.

Can anyone please tell if Schwartz Korma curry spices powder have any syns? I cant find it on the site, I thought it might be free but then noticed on the ingredients that it contains sugar and milk! I presume it's very little but want to double check.

I also drink a cup of Feiyan tea every night-Does anyone else have this? Very good for keeping you 'regular'! I don't recommend it for long term use as it is a natural laxative but it does help if you are bunged up a bit:rotfl:
  • Good evening, all. Well done losers and STSers and hugs for the Uppers, it'll come off next week :o.

Now, I read the last four pages and mentally noted a few questions:
Gravy: I never use granules (pulling a face at the thought :() so you can do what Consultant suggested, and you can simmer it until it reduces and thickens, it will be nicer than thickening with smash. Alternatively slice some onions and cook gently until they are brown and begin to caramelise (a sprinkling of fake sugar helps this), then stir in the stock from the chicken or some other liquid and stock cube, maybe a splash of synned wine or martini, some herbs if you fancy ... and cook that lot until it reduces down. I do it in the microwave and would allow 7 - 10 mins of half-power simmering.

Christmas party: I'm making some chicken liver pate (recipe back in the thread somewhere) at 16 syns for the whole pot so between 25 approx diners that is about half a syn each; and I've bought some Co-op wholemeal pittas (HEB) and am going to cut them up then toast them after spraying with oil and sprinkling with spices, these will be used to scoop up the pate (and I got a cheap box of Xmas crackers yesterday to prove I have the Christmas spirit :D )

forgotten the rest of the mental notes. Pencil notes might have been better :rotfl:

the chicken recipe with lemons sounds lovely thank you. I leave the skin on to cook it, and then (where's the halo gone?) I take it off and share it between the cats and the birds :A Also, I've bought a thing called a Fat Grabber from Lakeland but I haven't tried it yet. It was a kind of impulse buy ;)
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

    What's a fat grabber?!
I did toy with leaving the skin on but then wondered if this would effect the syn content due to it cooking with the fat?

    Hi all!
As mentioned yesterday, going to my first meeting tomorrow night and am glad to say my first red day has gone well! Not hungry at all! Just wondering tho, can anyone tell me if a 'Berocca' has any syns in? Normally I have one each morning, but as they are sweet and sugary it got me thinking (Don't have any books/bibles yet, think I'm right in assuming I'll get one at my meeting tomorrow).
    Thanks everyone,
    Bob Cat.

Thank you for that. Anyone have any success with syn-free thickening (like potato or something I was wondering?). And, I say syn-fre sausages on the web. Is it true?

Sorry to keep asking so many questions, it's just when I read posts I start thinking. You are such a lovely bunch of losers:p

I have used instant mash to thicken gravy, and it's worked ok. Does deaden the flavour a little bit tho, so don't use too much :)

    Hello

Seen talk of the SW christmas party - is it all clubs does anyone know?

I had to go early for weight in last week as had a party to go to so didnt stay for meeting so no idea! I saw one lady from the group but she said it was just a launch for the new book and those bars they sell?

Il try and text my group leader - worried now as working all week and wont have time to make anything or go shopping, but can ask parents to get me a few bits if needed. Im not sure what Id make as vegan.

Im not very comfy if theres loads of food buffet style around as Im vegan so tend to avoid buffets/bring and share if there is meat about.

    Food today was ok:

B - Rice pud with berries (HEA)

L - Beans and Toms on 1 wholemeal toast (HEB) (Had taken stew and rice but did not feel like it)

D - SW chips, veg sausage ( 1 syn), beans, mushrooms, side salad (as felt a bit low on superfree foods)

Snacks have been - banana, grapes, 2 apples, tub of fruit salad (mainly melon) and a soya yoghurt (2 syns)

Might have more rice pud later (my new addiction - not sure how much you should have of the same thing even if part of the milk allowance and free food, not sure every day is good?)
