Thanks for the chilli heat reducing tips, another friend said to add lemon/lime juice? I've decided to leave it until tomorrow as Il be the only one eating it as Mum cant cope health wise with hot chilli. I shall try the cooling tips and then freeze batches and serve with soya yoghurt dip, like a curry. Thanks for the help:)

Round 2 is the barley and butternut squash hotpot for tea, not sure what to serve it with - rice or cous cous best, and veggies. Might add some butterbeans at the end before serving.

Also made another rice pud - am obsessed with it:rotfl:parents will share Im sure.

Mel -I don't mind having a bash at doing you a meal plan if you are stuck, I would just need to know
    • what won't/can't you eat
    • what sort of meals you like normally
    • are you at home for lunch etc
    • ooohh what SW cookbooks you have, if any
    • oh and do you like cooking or would rather have quick things?
    • oh and finally (for now) -where do you shop -so I could pick stuff from there...
    Think that might do it....

Would you? That would be truly fantastic:A

Right I will answer your questions in order...

Eat pretty much everything, but I will be cooking main evening meal for 5 people..2 adults, two older kids and a tot....tot won't eat curry/spicy food, but I can always whip him up something seperate once or twice in the week.

Normal food is things like, shepherds/cottage pie, pasta dishes of all sorts of varieties. Meat n two veg meals, soup and pittas, lasagne,
Mainly eat mince/chicken/tuna dishes as they are cheap!
My favourite foods in the world are curry or steak;)

I am at home all day, and lunch and brekkie is seperate for me....usually weetabix for brekkie, or sometimes a cooked one, Lunch usually soup, jackets, chips n gravy/curry, chickpea dahl. I am of course, very open to suggestions and variety:)

SW books I have are, Free Foods, Curry feast, Food around the world, Green days and comfort foods......I don't tend to make too much from the books as I find a lot of ingredients are needed and we are on a fairly tight budget as there are 6 of us (one doesn't eat yet though:p)

I LOVE cooking:D But need quickie dinners for Monday and Friday as the kids have activities that we need to get out to after school...

All shopping is done at Asda:cool:

    You are fab:A

ETA - I am not a huge fruit fan, but do buy (for the kids mainly) bananas, tangerines, grapes, apples...so I will usually have a piece of fruit each day from the bowl. I also don't eat bread, or at least have it VERY infrequently as it affects my stomach to painfully:(:)

I have heard of adding a peeled potato to soak up the chilli, never tried it though.
What about having a big dollop of soya yogurt on top (like sour cream) to neutralise the chilli? Works with dairy yogurt and curry, so might work?

Ive tried the potato trick....it worked pretty well on a chilli that OH nearly took our stomach linings out with  its also really good if you've over salted anything too..... I think potato pretty much just zaps up anything

Hey guys, does anyone know how many syns are in the Innocent Veg pots? i was thinking about the aubergine moussaka one...i'm not a member of a group any longer so can't check the website. Tink x

Hi there -I just pulled up the info and calculated it... Now I selected Aubergine as the "free food element" and it came up as 9syns per pot on EE/Red and 11 syns on green -which seems a little odd with it being veggies -don't know if someone else can double check it for you?

Mel -I will go and make a start on a plan and post it as soon as its done....

Aww MrsM Aint you just soooo kind :A
I usually have a 'rough' idea of what were having for main meals (and when I say rough I mean like an old bears bum) but Im not so organised to plan 3 meals for a week

Ive always got meat stuff veggies & fruit and I tend to plan from there defrosting each morning what we need :o

Dont suppose you do a service that involves going to the gym on behalf of other people do you ?:rotfl: Or just a brisk walk around the block and a few of these :j??? ....put my name on your client list if you ever do :D

Im a sad sack as I love planning and things, although Im like you -I keep a good selection of meat, veg etc in so I can soon whip something up if we decided we don't fancy what I have planned -or I can't be a*sed to cook it :D

Tried lime juice to cool the curry, added a nice twist to it but still too hot. I'm not one for food waste so contemplated turning it into Mexican bean soup, then decided to try adding smash to it and hey presto now have a really nice mexican bean pate/dip:j

I've been after one of those for ages as if Im peckish Il dip in with carrot sticks or a few breadsticks and add them as syns.

Will freeze some in small tubs, like a refried bean dip type Mexican dish now - in fact would be nice with SW wedges:)

  • Hi gang  Hope you've all had a good weekend

Just dropping in to show my face, haven't so much been off plan as just off food the last four or five days. Feeling really ill and time off isn't an option, so just stayed in bed today on my day off. Didn't WI on thurs as I've pretty much just been coming home from work and going to bed every day! Have also cancelled my online membership as I can't justify the cost at the moment. Will stay on plan tho, it's done me well so far!

Happy birthday to lynzpower, and well done to everyone sticking with it :)

I shop every Monday morning and tend to walk around randomly throwing things into the trolley, pay on average £100 at the till, get home and then wonder what on earth I can make with the random display of foods now filling my cupboards:o I really need to get myself more organised, especially as I will really need to make a start on looking for a job in the next couple of months:cry::( So will need to be a lot more on the ball then or no one will end up eating!!

Couldn't find that one but they all seem
to be around 6-8 syns on extra easy which surprises me as I thought they would be free!
There are some bean pots that are similar and they are free - can't remember their names off the top of my head!
