    Hello again,

Don't want to be a pain but did anyone see my post about the books? If not here goes:

I have got through to the page where you confirm order but there is no mention of the free Jamie Oliver book or a bag. Has anyone else had this problem? It's still a bargain without the freebies but if there's a freebie to be had we might as well have it eh? (Martin would be so proud!)

Any feedback would be much appreciated. x

My 1st ever baked rice pudding just gone in the oven. I have followed the pack... 50g pudding rice to 1pt milk... doesn't look much rice to soak up all that milk. Oh well we will see how it turns out.

Just tried it again and it works.....

Add the SW book to your basket. Go to the check out and add promo code and click update. This takes you to anoher page saying something like apply free gift over 5.00. Click on apply. This then takes you to another page where you can choose the gift you want, it then adds it to your basket so you can pay.

    xx

Thanks so much for prompt reply - I did put in the code but didn't get transferred to the other page. I will try again. Thanks again. x

You have to click on 'update' for it to take you to the next page. Good luck.

Tesco vegetarian mince comes up with these 2:-
Meatfree, Vegetarian Mince, frozen, 100g 3
Meatfree, Vegetarian Mince, 350g pack, chilled, 100g Free

Thanks MRS M. Does that mean there are 3syns in 100g of the frozen one? Odd how chilled is free!

I made the hummous, used consultant31's recipe then added a teaspoon of sesame oil (must check syns, possibly two?). It is DELICIOUS!! One of our favourite meals used to be homemade hummus with loads of salad in a pitta with potato wedges on the side. Can do that now, syn one pitta (or can I have one wholemeal one as a HEB? It isn't on the list on the website, but I am sure I read somewhere that was possible?).

I think it's only the Co-op's wholemeal pitta that is a HEB. Asda's used to be but they changed the mix so they aren't any more.

That's what I didn't do!!! (I am a numpty) All done now, ordered one for Christmas pressie (did say I wasn't gonna start this early but too good a bargain to miss) and one for me. Got Jamie Oliver book but was tempted to go for suitcase set but thought it might be rubbish when it came - you can always rely on books.

    Thanks so much. x

Was feeling really poorly this morning, coughing gave me headache. Then had upset stomach so in & out the bathroom [sorry tmi] also * week. Had to go to mums to do her tablets, was a quick visit so as not to pass on whatever I've got. Popped into The Range [don't mind infecting other people though :D] on way home to get a few things and lots of chocolate jumped into our basket  no idea how they got there :o. The STARBAR was delish, not had one of them for YEARS, the Ripple wasn't as nice but was half price though. Weeeeeeeellllll I aren't well so is like medicine :D.

Anyone know how manys syns please? [just want to keep record]

Another thought, grapenuts cereal works well as a crumble topping, EAT do a banana/yog/honey pot with grape nuts on the top.

Grape nuts are also a heb.....

Splenda do a brown sugar blend ( I got stacks of it for home baking when it was cheap at home bargains, also seen it recently in 99p stores)
as Im not homebaking, its packed away.....

I think Id use oats/ grapenuts as HEB and stewed fruit as syns as i think you get a bigger volume of stewed fruit as a HEB than oats IYSWIM. ...

never heard of grapenuts, I shall have to look out for some for next time :) have used mainly oats for the topping with a bit of wholemeal flour and butter

    Evening all

Had a busy day today... but still stayed on the wagon!!! Blreakkie was huge - bacon, eggs, mushroom, tomatoes, sliced fry (lighted) potatoes, Mr Ms sausges (1).. so just had a mugshot and scan bran for lunch.. Chicken stirfry for tea.... and all my lovely syns on a well deserved glass of wine (oh, summer fruits and yogurt as a snack)

Trying a new recipe - mushroom and bean pate - will let you know what it is like when it is cooked......

Be careful with the brown splenda - I believe it has syns (read in mag a few months ago.....)

    Owl x
