i have bitten the bull by the horns and im going to go to a class tonight. They have said my 12 year old can come with me as hubby on nights this week.

im terrified, but i will attend. I have just bought my first set of scales in 15 years and got on them and physicaaly shocked myself. This is the start of a new me. I have also just bought a bike as i used to love cycling and will take it nice and easy just to and from work twice a week.
  • Hello,
I introduced myself on the other thread, as I was thinking of joining Slimming World online.
However, I'm pleased to say that I decided to join a class. I went yesterday :T. I was so nervous - but I actually quite enjoyed it.
I'm hoping to lose 2 stone by February and hope that I'll be committed enough to continue going to classes and participate on this forum :p

well i will be a day behind you!! im going tonight, did want to start next week but the lady is on holiday for 2 weeks and wanted to see the normal lady not a stand in one.

im just worried that i havent got the right food in to start as of tomorrow!!

so i might have a very bad week lol
  • Thanks for good wishes Yoemma. I have been eating loads of scan bran this week (will be three packets by tomorrows WI) so hope it pays off!! I will let you know.
  • Hi Divadee, will you be following the Extra Easy plan? I went with the mindset that I'd follow the Original (Red) plan - but the Extra Easy looks so simple I'm going to give it a try. I haven't got the right food at home, but so far I've managed to follow the plan. Not sure what I'll be having for dinner tonight though.
  • Well done squeakie and Divadee - the worst thing is getting in through the door!!! If it's anything like our group you will be made very welcome. Don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you need and you can contact your consultant with any problems. With all this support and the support of this wonderful site you can't go wrong. Divadee - please don't get into the habit of jumping on the scales - I have made that mistake and I don't think it does any good. Sometimes if you've lost on your scales you think you are o.k. and have a bit of a treat and if you don't seem to have lost you might get disheartened (I know from experience!!!!) Good luck to you.

im not sure hun. it all looks so confusing at the moment, hence why i decided to go to the classes in the end. i thought doing it at home might be a bit much for my first ever diet.

i like the sound of the Extra Easy.

I dont eat cheese or hardly any red meat anyway so i cant cut those out. I eat a lot of veg but not much fruit which is weird as i do love fruit. Going to start buying more and preparing it in the evening for the next day to snack on.

Im a grazer, i could eat little bits all day rather than a big meal (other than curry from the takeaway on a sat night). I will be saving up all my syns i think for my curry lol.

I will let you all know how i get on tonight, i dont think i will be publishing my weight on here though lol.

Im 5"11 so carry it quite well, but clothes are all too tight now and i hate looking at myself in the mirror, it disgusts me to see what i have become.

im not a great cook, so this will be a whole new side of me cooking from scratch, i may be the next nigella who knows lol.

i have had a horrible year with losing my dad from a heart attack at the age of 65 and i dont want that to happen to me, i want to be here till im 100.

After weight loss the stopping smoking will come, as that will kill me quicker than the fat lol.

i just hope i can get rid of the 3-4 stone i want to lose. its been a drip feed of putting on half a stone a year for 10 years i was 9 and a half stone 13 years ago which was to little, so 11 stone would see me right i think.

Sorry to ramble on just terrified of my first ever healthy eating plan and first exercise in 10 years eekkkk

    Diva, you will be fine!

Make sure you take plenty of pics of yourself now ( maybe in a bikini!) and MEASURE with a tape around your arm, legs, waist, bum etc.

In the weeks and months you will be able to see the difference.

Its so easy, seriously, with the help of all of us here you wont go far wrong along with your group. As I said before in the last thread, I cant afford to go to group but am loving the support from here!

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
