    Morning all,
Feeling a bit better this morning, less upset but very very daunted by the amount I have to lose.
Thank you all so much for the kind and supportive comments, it means so much when you are feeling this low. Im just going to try and do my best and come on here for the support as well as class.

I want to do a cottage pie tonight, Ive looked on the SW website and they do one with a swede mash, I want to do a normal one for all the family. Can I have this on EE? My mince is very low fat, I use carrots, onions and oxo. No butter or milk in the mash so would that be ok to have with veg?

    Hi

Im so glad you're feeling better than you were last night :) You've taken the first steps to losing the weight now.....and you can do it ;)

Im always reminded of an old saying when I think about a huge task ahead of me

"you cant possibly eat an elephant in one go - you have to do it bit by bit"

thats a lot like our weight loss journey, we have to tackle it a pound or 2 at a time.......and gradually we can eat the elephant ;)

The cottage pie with 'real mash' is good on EE....just make sure you have 1/3 of your plate served with superfree veggies with it ( peas or corn arent superfree remember )
  • Morning all. I managed to bake last night for work without trying one of my cookies so am polishing my halo now ;)
I made some dyno-rod type soup last night, only me eating it so didn't want to use too much. I used a tin of plum tomatoes, a tin of mixed veg, a tin of baked beans, a tin of mushy peas and some butternut squash and sweet potato I had roasted in the oven. It is rather tasty but be glad none of you share a bathroom with me!

    Ebaybaby- I think once you get on track you will be feeling more positive and I am sure you are going to be one of those annoying people that win awards and slimmer of the week left, right and centre. I am sure in a few weeks this will be a distant memory that only highlights how good you are feeling on the plan. Could you do yourself a diary with how you feel as well as how you are eating so that you can see the correlation? {hugs}

Now who was it who was thinking of quitting? I think we should buddy up as I am in a similar boat. I am going to focus on EE and stuffing myself with good stuff so I don't have room to crave the bad stuff. I have peaches that will be a lovely sweet treat at the end of my lunch today. Anyone know the syns for a tbsp of oats?

  • Another day off for me as I have a sinus infection - yuck yuck yuck.
    Green day:
    HEA milk for tea
B: Pudding rice (cooked with water) with vanilla fat free yog and blueberries - yum!
L: HM wholemeal roll (HEB) with bean and veg soup - last of the soup thank goodness. I like it but it has become a little monotonous.
D: Mushroom stroganof, rice, salad. Will use HEB of olive oil between the mushroom stroganof and salad dressing.
Snacks:Fruit, chocolate options (2 syns), Activia snackpot.
I only have 2 syns in there, so will see how it goes. Might syn the olive oil instead and have alpen lights or ryvita as my HEB?
    Good luck everyone,

    hello folks,

I decided to follow advice on here and ate quite late last night to get my 3 meals in. Today I had breakfast at around 11am. I have realised that if I have alarms set on my phone to remind me to take meds I can set up alarms to tell me to eat!!

Alarms are all set now :)

Lunch was baked beans with 9g grated cheddar -2 syns

    3 x apples

Dinner will be chicken breast curry

Weigh in is Thursday so I need to try harder as I only lost 1lb last week. I have had to fasten my belt on the next hole so that is promising.

    Good luck for WI fozziebear

Is there any advice on how to make SW meals work for me but be adaptable and healthy to help DH gain weight? Such as what to do different in DHs chicken curry tonight so he doesn't lose any more.

Poohbear, I have the same problem as you...I'm trying to lose weight but OH needs to put some on. I give him bigger portions, particularly of the rice, pasta, potatoes. Potatoes have butter on for him, pasta you could add some olive oil too, I put grated cheese on anything i can for him, mayo in sandwiches, full fat milk (which he also uses to make wieght gain milksahkes up that he gets from holland and barratt). With the curry, one thing you could do is add cream to his after you've served yours up. Obviously all this adds extra fat as well as calories but its ok as long as he has a fairly balanced diet....so keep up his superfrees too!!!
  • Oh and for anyone that has one nearby Home Bargains has the apple and sultana Alpen Lights for 99p. They aren't my favourite but I got some as they were cheaper. They also sell the pasta and sauce cheaply consistently if there aren't good offers on elsewhere, though Asda has them 3 for a £ which seems great to me! Any Mullers on a good offer anywhere? Not 4 for £2 though which is a joke of an offer to me, "woohoo, I saved 8p", me no likey :)

    hello all

I am feeling a bit wobbly too, sian and lynz
Just dont have the enthusiasm, esp when i am tired and not getting much sleep (dont know why - keep waking up at night)
However, I have discovered a passion for soup that i never knew i had. I always hated tinned soup so just assumed 'i hate soup' but hm soup is sooo lovely. have made 2 versions of susan's carrot soup so far and today i am going to experiment with leek and potato!

    EE again:
    1 clementine
Raisin wheats (HEB + 1 ryvita) skim milk (1/2 HEA)
2 Ryvita with laughing cow (1/5 syns) (1/2 HEA)
leek and potato soup with chunky potato!
chicken stuffed with quark, herbs and garlic, baked in toms, onion and mushroom, and served with pasta
Thanks for the recipe inspiration Owl

I have just had the rice pudding for brekfast, boiled the rice in water then mixed in a toffee muller light yoghurt and topped with sliced banana, was nice but does anyone know any other yoghurts that are free? I dont mind the muller ones but I wouldnt say I really like them

I don't like Muller Lights either, (a) because they have gelatine in them:eek: and (b) because i don't think they taste very nice;) I'm currently eating Activia Fat Free yoghurts and they are yummy and gelatine free:D They are all free except the peach which are 1/2 a syn each so not too bad. I love the peach, cherry and vanilla ones. Not dead keen on strawberry but will eat if i have to.
