LadyinBlack wrote: »Please could anyone help? My friend is a coeliac and has just joined SW. She has 28g of Rice Crispies for breakfast and, because it's not listed in the Healthy Options, she thinks she has to have it as Syns which she would prefer not to. She doesn't want to wait till next week to ask the consultant. Any advice?
Also, are any other coeliacs doing SW who could give her some tips?
Many thanks.
There is a page on the sw site all about doing the plan with coelic.
sorry but rice crispies would have to be synned....there is no fibre in them for them to be a HEB0 -
Thanks a lot for the responses. She's new to this and so am I! I'll point her in the direction of the website (Thanks dizzyk).
I'm doing the Cambridge Diet at the moment - need the quick fix. I'm coing off in the next week or so and am considering SW for a less drastic, more long-term weight plan. Anybody else done this? I'm going to read through the thread and may/will be back with questions.0 -
I used to do cambridge too, for about 6 months. It just wasnt sustainable and I felt like a junkie going to see my dealer at the house and fiddling around with little sachets all the time! Plus I was rather concerned about my bowels
I did not really diet in between but then I put wieght back on as I ate really badly!
It was over 2 years until I started doing SW and its the only one ve ever stuck to even if I have a few (!!) off days:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Ebaybaby - sorry if someone's said it and I've missed it but only EXTRA LEAN mince is free on SW - if it's 'just' lean then it does have syns but not as many as 'normal' mince. A lot of people wonder why their weight loss slows when there are hidden synslike these!0

I feel for you Crispy with the fear of going out......Its not nice and I know too well what its like
As far as going to a group....could your friend or Hubby go along with you?
The reason I ask this is that at SW you can turn up, have the new members talk....sit through the class but you're under no obligation to pay or join until the end when everyone else has gone ( so hubby or friend wouldnt have to) then you just get your books and all the info you need to get you going and we can do the rest on here....helping out with questions and syn values etc
I just really feel it would help you sooooo much to have at least one visit to a group to get the info if possible....0 -
Crisp £ Note - where do you live? If you are near me, I'd go with you. Or maybe someone else is near you? xBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

oooohh ...well spotted!! I missed that one :T
Ive got away with this when Ive bought it (or OH has) by dry frying it then rinsing it in boiling water to get rid of as much remaining fat as poss.;)
