Exactly what I was thinking. I have a great leek, mushroom, artichoke and chestnut en croute recipe which I am sure I can adapt to use filo pastry. I usually make caramelised onion tarts to take to family meals over Christmas (they would cook for me but I feel I should do my bit when MIL is catering for so many). Looks like I could use filo for that too.
Might have a trial run with the filo, perhaps at the weekend.
Any chance of the recipe? I tend to cook the Rose Elliot chestnut and mushroom pate en croute recipe for Christmas but that will need a lot of syns removing from the original recipe but I like a challenge!
Am use to 'veganising' veggie recipes.
Il cook SW style at home over Christmas but when we go to my aunts its enough for her to do vegan for me so dont want to ask her to alter her recipes. I can get round it by not having more than about 2 roasties and not having any choc/junk and plenty of veggies. It's only one day and I shall be careful:)
Having said that my aunt is into dieting and healthy food so if I find a syn free veggie gravy recipe I might send it to her, syn free nutroast will be impossible but could ask about SW roast pots maybe.
I have some filo in the freezer so will do a trial run maybe November!Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Wow!!! 6lb loss!!! Well Done!!!
Just got to tell you about my most delicious tea..... I had a chicken breast, cut a small pocket, mixed a cheese triangle with garlic and herbs and stuffed it in. Wrapped the whole thing in bacon (2 rashers) and cooked in frylight. Added onion and mushroom and half a tin of chopped toms near the end. Meanwhile, new potato wedges in oven and green beans and peas goign round microwave. Absolutley fab!!!! And 1.5 syns (for cheese triangle cos I had hea today - on EE)
Yum yum....
Oh and a curly wurly for pud!!

Sorry, but as you have already worked out for yourself (above in red) but we all need to decide which we want to do - lose weight or have lots of off-diet meals.
It is perfectly possible to have a social life and still lose weight, honestly it is. I have had more than one member who has returned to group after the Christmas holidays and lost weight. Not surprisingly, it's usually the ones who attended the group between Christmas and New Year who do best (see, there's a pattern).
If it's not the right time for you, you don't feel committed enough, there's no shame in saying "right I'm going to pack in until I feel I can give it my all".
I hope this hasn't come across as too harsh, but sometimes I think 'tough love' is called for if you are self-sabotaging like this.0 -
very quick post....
Its weigh in tonight for me and I *know* I will have a gain because I weighed on my scales this morning and my scales were not kind to me !
I intend to go in and weigh and I help out also so intend to stay to do that but then I intend to run away ..... or should I stay?? I HATE explaining myself - why I have had yet another gain (etc)
welcome your views.
ps went pear shaped at the weekend following meal out and too much alcohol... also feeling fed up which means I give up on the plan0 -
I've just about had enough!! On the very edge of giving up trying SW alltogether A month on since I started trying and am sick of salads, fruit and Syns! Found a note in my diary today which I made on 4th January this year, it tells me I am now 1lb heavier today than I was back in January after nearly 10 months of trying very hard to lose weight.
Today I have had
B - Low Cholesterol drink (Tesco Strawberry), Plum.
L - Dino Rod soup (chunky).
D - Dino Rod Soup (chunky) plus a rustic olive and sundried tomato roll (Tesco bakery) spread with Flora Pro Active Buttery.
Snack - Raspberries & Blueberries with a drizzle of runny honey.
1 large weak glass Tesco Cherries & Berries squash, 2 cups tea (Skimmed milk, no sugar) and a cup of hot water (to warm me up).
Walked to mum in laws to feed her cat as she was away for the day. Then later me and hubby had a walk along the seafront then I spent half an hour chucking pebbles in the water (trying to get rid of my negativity).
I have been totally fed up all day again, wondering whats the point and why I am bothering.Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!
