  • ignore my ruce pud question, Im currently in the kitchen experimenting :D
  • :D:DHere is Marions famous breakfast rice which is an absolute lifesaver . :D:D

Cook 1/2 cup of pudding rice in 1 cup of water for about 20 minutes (I use my remoska). Remove from heat put into a bowl, add fruit and a complementing muller yogurt and mix together! ie rice with sliced banana and toffee yogurt, rice with frozen blueberrys and a blueberry yogurt, rice with mandarin segments (chopped) and mandarin yogurt. For best results eat straight away while it is nice and warm! Tastes really nice and is very very filling! Also free on SW green and EE so can be made any time you fancy it really! Marion
I just found this on one of the links provided above. I am going to try this to see if it will help with my free (green) breakfast search!

I like the sound of the onion filo tartlet - could you give more info if you get a chance?
The thing I have always found really irritating about filo pastry is that it comes in a packet/roll of lots of layers, if you only need a few do you refreeze the rest? It always seems to end up cracking! I have been thinking about Christmas (sorry!) and I am planning to replace some of the pastry I would have used in the past for my meals (I am vegetarian) with filo. It will mean most of it will be free or free plus HEA. Of course, that doesn't cover the pudding etc but I am planning to work on that...!

I am going to use the rest of the filos for this http://www.slimmingeats.com/blog/caramelised-onion-tomato-and-mozzarella-filo-tart reported that they freeze well but im still on the look outr for the mango powder not sure if it can do without.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • I have attended each and every week apart from one holiday week, I have been helping out with the weighing (and getting there early or staying late and putting out or putting back chairs and encouraging people and being positive etc etc) but I do not feel as though at the moment I am being committed enough, like you said. I know I am the weak link in this whole thing but I eat out a lot with friends or at friends houses, and whilst my bro only had one wedding I have made bad choices on a few occasions, I know that. I was not asking for a get out clause I was asking if anyone else had been in a similar situation and had any advice for me. :D I can write the rule book on what is healthy, I just need something to stop me eating the biscuit or bag of crisps or meringue when it comes to that crunch moment...

Whilst what you have put there totally makes sense I have never been that person in the group at all. I totally support people who have lost weight and try and encourage those who have little blips and I never deny it was my fault if I put on weight. I was hoping some people on here may be able to be motivating to me and encourage me to get on with it, I am not sure describing me as negative is fair and I certainly do not take over my group, I was voted woman of the year for my group though my weight loss has been fairly poor because I think I have tried to be an uplifting and fun person. Well done to you for making the right choices, I admire your willpower, that is what I struggle with and what I was hoping to get some help with :(

Sian i think you should stop beating yourself up about food!!!!!! its food?! if you kick the dog or don't let the cat sleep on your bed THEN you deserve to go to hell in a hand basket ;) but come on girl its food!

if i start to slip i take some time off,i'm just getting back to it after having some time off plan, hubby was in hospital for a while and i did my back in,bacon butty's on white bread whoo hoo!! but now i'm bloated and miserable so getting back on plan. i do this with sadness too,i must be 'weird' i give myself time to do over-eating,or self indulgence and i stick to that time, whether its a week or 2 days, set yourself that time, don't count syns, don't obsess over what you've eaten or try to count it when its gone, eat it,enjoy it and when that time is done then get back onto plan, but keep things into perspective, yes its great to feel good in clothes but is it really important,is it? or is it more important to be yourself and not give your kids your hang ups (does that make sense?)

if you don't stick to plan then please don't stop chatting to us,its nice to get lots of different folk chatting :) and don't be down hearted, today is Tuesday, the start of my week and today i am back on plan and i shall lose 2lb's by this time next week <<hugs>>

  • Continuing the filo theme, I like the look of this http://www.slimmingeats.com/blog/thai-spiced-salmon-filo-parcels
I would use tofu and veg instead as I am vegetarian, but could be a classy meal!

Good for you - go and get weighed. I used to kid myself that I would go next week, then lost the plot and gave up! Face up to it and start afresh.

  • Thanks ladies, that is very encouraging and consultant I shall try some of those things.
I love to cook and I love having people around, maybe I need to make my extra easy cookbook my first stop for recipes! This weekend I have a party on Saturday night, if I drive there then I won't drink and I am more likely to make sensible food choices too. I do find that if I take things like carrot sticks then I will just snack on them. I think I may need to make myself some of this soup too! I remember that TV show about 'fat club' with alison steadman and I remember them saying "nothing tastes as good as thin feels", I reckon she had never tried cream cheese icing, that stuff is like a drug, can't have it in the house!

Am not feeling 100% today, had 3 nasty jabs last night and am not sure if it is them making me feel a bit sick or I am just squeamish at the thought of little yellowfever nasties floating around my bloodstream!

Thanks again for being encouraging :)
