I know I lose much better when I cut bread out completely (which I have done this last week) and although I could live on pasta I do try and eat as little as possible. Everyone's different which is why there's different plans even within SW. Will try and find an old SW thread with the info on - don't you have the books?
Not any more, a friend lent them to me for a week at the start but she wanted them back so didnt really get to grips with it all. Am just trying to follow general advice on healthy eating and tips off this thread really.
Thanks for the link.Glad your rice pud was nice - loved mine and got more for tomorrow.
I too dont feel comfy using sweetners - never have and doubt I ever will. Ive been like Ive had one of those energy drinks all evening:rotfl:think Il stick to fruit sugar in tiny amounts or a teaspoon of my agarve syrup as Id rather add natural sweetner and add it on as syns than have sweetner, just my personal view as Ive never been keen on them myself.
I know people on the vegan forums who use stevia but it is hard to get hold of, Ive had foods with it in and its fine. It is banned in the E.U Id like to try it but so hard to find, might try Xylitol or other fruit sugar instead?
I do have the occasional diet coke again now which is not good, mainly stick to water.
MMMM I was just thinking of rice pud yesterday when I found the pureed apple, pureed pear, cranberries and blueberries in the freezer yesterday. Is there a recipie anywhere please?
ThanksFailure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!

TakeitEazy - have you thought certain things might set your IBS off? After a good nights sleep I remembered that DH now avoids certain things - fresh tomatos, skin on apples & citrus fruits. He's also been better since he's cut out coffee, oh and milk from his porridge!
I'm not saying these are your triggers, but might be worth eliminating a couple of things for a bit and see if it improves?

stewed pureed apple is 1 syn per 28g
stewed pureed pear is 2 syn per 28g
also just thought you might be interested, you posted before about adding bagels recently to your daily intake......
Tesco bagels 9syns each or if you buy the 5pack ones at 113g each theyre a whopping 14.5  thats a days syns gone before you start0 -
Dont know if anyone has said this ( still catching uP!) but I thicken casserole with instant mash potato/ smash style SYN FREE
save your flour syns for something else! :j:j
I usually tip about half a mugful into a slow cooker with 4 portions and then see how it goes.:j
what a fab idea, wouldnt have thought to do that, thanks :T
Been thinking about the rice pud, is it possible to make it with your daily milk? Also do you reckon it would work by making it without sweetner then just adding a spoonful of honey when its ready? I know that would then make it syned but Im another one who's non too keen on using too much sweetner0 -

I know I am the weak link in this whole thing but I eat out a lot with friends or at friends houses, and whilst my bro only had one wedding I have made bad choices on a few occasions, I know that. I was not asking for a get out clause I was asking if anyone else had been in a similar situation and had any advice for me.
I can write the rule book on what is healthy, I just need something to stop me eating the biscuit or bag of crisps or meringue when it comes to that crunch moment...
Whilst what you have put there totally makes sense I have never been that person in the group at all. I totally support people who have lost weight and try and encourage those who have little blips and I never deny it was my fault if I put on weight. I was hoping some people on here may be able to be motivating to me and encourage me to get on with it, I am not sure describing me as negative is fair and I certainly do not take over my group, I was voted woman of the year for my group though my weight loss has been fairly poor because I think I have tried to be an uplifting and fun person. Well done to you for making the right choices, I admire your willpower, that is what I struggle with and what I was hoping to get some help with
I wrote you a massive reply that vanished into the abyss of MSE
I just wanted to say, yes I think we have all been there, with social events. Suggestions from me are: can people come to your house, and youll cook? Can you suggest a SW friendly meal out - eg a 5 syn chinese or a nandos? If you are out for drinks, can you slip in a non alcoholic drink like a diet-something or a water, even just one a night will save you some syns. Do you need to go out to eat? Can you just meet people for a coffee? Just a few suggestions,Im not sure how they will fit. They wont work for every situation but they might work the odd time. I went out to las iguanas the other day- high syn- but had diet drinks and water instead of the beer or cocktails- damage minimisation!
Green day for me today
Breakfast banana and yog then
Egg beans and mushroom
Lunch will be a JP and cottage cheese or som sort fo soup - have to see what i can find

I'm so sorry I sent someone off to look at Post 1 for the guide to the EE plan and I hadn't put it on this thread, it was the old one
Anyhow, here it is if anyone wants to refresh their memories:
Extra Easy:
1: Choose your Free Food
Anything that’s Free Food on Green OR Original – so that’s pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, poultry, fish and all the Superfree food – is totally Free on Extra Easy! Yes, you can eat unlimited meat, potatoes and veg, fish, chips and mushy peas, and chicken curry and rice with no measuring, no weighing, no counting – no kidding!
And for super-fast, super healthy results, fill one third of your plate with Superfree Food!
2: Choose your Healthy Extras
Each day select one Healthy Extra ‘a’ choice and one Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice from our simplified list of calcium and fibre-filled foods, including milk, cheese, bread and cereal.
3: Enjoy 5-15 Syns each day
And if the Syn values for Green and Original foods are different on the standard Syns lists, count the lower one!
If you find your weight loss has slowed down or stopped, check………
1. Whether everything you're counting as Free, is Free
2. Whether you're under-estimating Syn values (over-estimate if guessing)
3. Whether you're counting everything that should be counted
4. Whether you're measuring everything that should be measured
5. Whether you're sabotaging your success in any other way (using SAS logs will help uncover individual long-term self-sabotage patterns) and, if none of these is the culprit, either...........
A: increase the proportion of Superfree Foods to half of your plate
OR
B: switch to more Speed Foods
And above all, if you follow the plan, any plan, 100% you will lose weight!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Well mine is "Lynz if you eat this you will be fatter, do you want to be fatter than you are now"
Sometimes my answer is yes! Sometimes no! Thats the bare bones of it tho isnt it! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

The thing I have always found really irritating about filo pastry is that it comes in a packet/roll of lots of layers, if you only need a few do you refreeze the rest? It always seems to end up cracking! I have been thinking about Christmas (sorry!) and I am planning to replace some of the pastry I would have used in the past for my meals (I am vegetarian) with filo. It will mean most of it will be free or free plus HEA. Of course, that doesn't cover the pudding etc but I am planning to work on that...!

Oh gosh, I didn't mean to put down your efforts at all, sorry
There is only one person who can stop you eating that biscuit, bag of crisps or meringue though isn't there?
Have you tried going right back to basics?
Get out your books and re-read them, cover to cover.
Find some completely new recipes to try.
Make a for and against list - put down reasons you want to lose weight and on a different list, what stops you doing it. Sometimes seeing it in black and white can help you refocus.
Ask your Consultant for an SAS Log. This definitely helps you see where your trigger points lie and therefore how you can help yourself avoid them.
I hope this helps, please keep your chin up - it could be that you just need a few weeks off plan to make you realise how much better you feel on plan IYKWIM.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
