I've just seen an ad for Kallo rice cakes, anyone tried them? Or know the syns?
I've gotta say my dinner was delishI wasn't a huge fan of the risotto to be honest, and was a tad worried cos I had 2 huge leftover portions
but it tasted divine in the peppers. I still have one and half portions leftover but will freeze those to use as stuffing mix again.

I just weighed my HEB of pasta to go with my meatballs for tea:eek: has anyone seen what 35g of pasta looks like? 10 pieces of penne
i've decided to have courgette nooodles instead and then have the last of my fibre plus bars for my HEB.
You get a lot more spaghetti than for your 35g than you get penne.0 -

There are 5 of us in our house. 2nite i had Spag bol for dinner. We buy the Morrisons frozen beef mince which when cooking we strain off all the fat until the meat is dry (i have this now and again when i cant afford fresh ex lean stuff - i count it as free because its dry as a bone by the time its cooked lol) With cheap tins of tomatoes, italian seasoning, an oxo cube, mushrooms (yellow sticker) and fresh toms (allotment) We usually have the value pasta with it.
The mince is 2.99 for a massive bag that will do 3 different dinners (i pack it with veggies esp mushrooms) that serves 5 people. The tinned toms were 3 tins for £1 and have garlic in already. Italian seasoning lasts ages and cost me about 59p, onions were from a massive value bag (about £1 for a big bag) Fresh toms were "free" coz they were home grown. Mushrooms were whoopsed at 30p for a packet and done 2 meals. I bought the oxo cubes for about £1 when the bigger packs were on special (cant remember where tho as parents bought them!) Pasta was 39p but we do use the whole packet (and sometimes more it depends who's cooking!)
If you dont grow your own toms then try get some yellow sticker ones (go supermarkets either saturday night or sunday afternoon before they closebargains will be found!!)
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

Well done to all the gym goers - i'm allergic to it
If you were doing EE, you wouldn't have to weigh your pasta. Just add a load of onions, tomatoes & muchrooms to your plate (either mixed into the meatball mixture or as veg) for a free meal.
PS: I'm with you re the gymI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Nothing much cheaper than SW chips & egg and soooooo yummy
To the cheaper mince (once fried and drained as VixieP says) you can add a good handful of cooked lentils. This has the advantage of bulking out the meat so it goes further and the lentils are good for you too - win-win!!
The same can be done with chilli - a load of cheaper mince, lentils, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and rice and you can make enough to feed the 5000 if you're so mindedUse up the excess as a jacket potato filling or freeze for quick slimming meals when you can't be bothered to cook.
Lentils + meat = perfect for EE though not so perfect for Original days. You can do the same meal using Quorn for Green days of course.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Hey all,
Had a long day today, first day of a week long training programme in social care. Met some lovely new people but most of all it was really good to get out and start learning something new.
They did cater for us at the place where it was held- sandwich stuff but also a few of those mini doughnuts that they sell in Tesco...anyone know of the syn value for these? I had two.
I came straight home and made chilli, so apart from lunch, I've not synned...yet!
EE day
B- Bran flakes (HEB) milk (HEA)
Snack - apple
L -cheese and ham sandwiches x 4 tiny ones! 1 mini savoury egg
Snack - 2 mini doughnuts
D -SW chilli
Not sure on they syns but I reckon 3 for the cheese, 2 for the butter...it's all guesswork for me but I'll just be careful tomorrow too.0 -
Evening all, Just about caught up with the thread, well done to all those with fab losses. I put on 0.5lb this week (Thurs WI) which, all things considered wasn't too bad. Hoping to lose at least that this week.

Thanks Consultant but i can't be trusted with EE!! I tried it last year whilst attending class and I gradually put a stone on! I wasn't best pleased.
I lost 3 stone a few years ago doing red and green, so i'm chosing to do mostly red days witha few greens in between as treats.. i'll save my pasta for those i think!!:)Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Just popped on to say my Red day tea of sirloin steak cooked by OH was divine, didnt have potato wedges in the end-we had cauli with mad cow triangles, mushrooms, toms, onions
........but Im hungry again  that just cant be right!!! I never felt hungry on EE and I ate less I reckon( I think its all in my head perhaps
)
Im still not convinced by red days (other than the 2 HEBs) I really do think EE is sooooo much easier.....but an experiment is underway so I want to try carry on til WI and see if it undoes my naughtiness of the flexible day.;)
Im still all over the place wobbly wise.....my zimmer is knocking into the door frames.....seems to have developed a mind of its own! I feel like that mr soft man of the old mints ad... I just cant co-ordinate...its not nicevery strange feeling at the mo, Im ok if I dont move my head at all tho
