Just wondering if people find a lot of benefit in actually attending meetings as opposed to joining online???
I have ALMOST got enough nerve to go to my local meeting tomorrow.....but not quite!
I'm not much of a joiner-iner :rotfl: but would try to do it if it's likely to help me.
What's been your experience of SW classes?
I have been attending class since summer 2007 and know that if I didn't continue with the weekly meetings then whilst things have gone rather awry recently, they would go completely awry if I gave up attending the weekly image therapy. The members are lovely and I get a lot of inspiration from them. Its inspiring following their journeys.
I personally have lost all motivation recently and did over the weekend consider the online membership but feel that the best course of action for me is to plan plan plan and to continue to attend the weekly group. I fear that if I do it online and don't have that weekly weigh in on my consultant's scales that I will fall off the wagon spectacularly!
TODAY marks a fresh start for my SW campaign. I had hoped by now that i would have my weekly menu all worked out but i have yet to plan this. Its been ok today despite being very tempted by the pub and their beef chilli but I resisted and here is my menu

P.S. I love to use paragraphs!
Always breaking up the sentances
Even when i don't need to
Helps it makes sense! lol :rotfl:
Nessie, so do I love paras (and colons and semi colons and elipses and dashes) unfortunately when I am checking in here *ahem* at work for some reason no paras show, I can't use the emoticons, and I cannot edit. Dunno why. So I've kind of got out of the habit of bothering with paras on here! Oooh I bet she's off at the weigh in and I write x :T:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

I'm feeling very inspired from reading your posts - you are all so supportive and are doing so well. I would really like to lose some weight but am not sure I could face attending a group. Can anyone explain how online membership works & how easy it is to stay motivated and to keep on track?
I need to do this for me so can anyone give me a shove in the right direction?
GG
Can anyone help?
Mrs M?
Consultant?

To be honest, I know next to nothing about the online SWI do know though about the groups and I can promise that they aren't nearly as daunting as you perhaps expect.
Everyone is there for the same reason as you and as in so many situations, some people you will like immediately and some will just rub you up the wrong way for no apparent reason, just avoid the folk you don't like.....simples!
Once you see how easily the weight comes off, your motivation should soar. Good luckI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Oops
Any suggestions on something MOIST I could use instead?
I don't like baked beans which I think woud be ideal......
Love tuna mayo but mayo and SW????
Not good.
I was thinking maybe a spoon of Quark??? I don't like the taste of it "naked" but does it taste different when stirred into something?
Any suggestions would be great :T
I like cottage cheese with a good sprinkling of Aromat - you can get this from Asda, Tesco etc and it gives a lovely flavour to otherwise bland food.
Alternatives to mayo, well I use a half and half mix of mayo extra light and either syn-free fromage frais or Greek yoghurt. With the addition of black pepper, it's yummy and very very low syn.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi, I have a quick question about Slimming World. I'm getting married next year and want to lose a little bit of weight. I'm not overweight, the most I would want to lose is about 10lbs. Is Slimming World likely to work for me? It seems like you get to eat loads! I usually use Rosemary Conley if I need to lose a few pounds and it does work but I've head loads about Slimming World and fancy trying it.
As someone else has already said, it probably would come off quite slowly but it's a very healthy way to eat and if you can get into good habits, you may never put it on again - well, we all live in hope :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

You won't know what your local group is like until you bite the bullet and go along. My group was always fun, in fact I used to comment on the fact that it was more like a social club than a slimming group
If for some reason you don't like the group or the Consultant, they do try to 'cluster' the groups so there should be another within spitting distance on a different night. To find all your local groups go to www.slimming-world.com and enter your postcode.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Sorry, I'm in danger of taking over this page with all my waffle, but I just wanted to say welcome back to the 'lost souls' who were around a long time ago. It's lovely to see you back among us
Welcome also to the newbies. As you've seen this thread is full of info and support from people, some of whom are losing loads, some who are jogging along slowly and some who are struggling at the mo. That's life....it's not always easy or fair, but if you have a vision of the 'new you' in mind, stick with food optimising, stick with this thread and eventually you will get there :j
If you've never thought about buying the magazine, do have a look at it - I've always found it a mine of information and so very inspiring, I've got every copy from about the last 10 years, lol.
PS: Well done MrsM, you're doing amazingly well :T
PPS: Glad to see you're feeling so much more chipper DizzyI let my mind wander and it never came back!0
