I LOVE jacket potato - could have them every day........with lashings of butter!!

    Oops :D

Any suggestions on something MOIST I could use instead?

I don't like baked beans which I think woud be ideal......

Love tuna mayo but mayo and SW????

    Not good.

I was thinking maybe a spoon of Quark??? I don't like the taste of it "naked" but does it taste different when stirred into something?

Any suggestions would be great :T
How about those new Deli Light Laughing Cow Squares ? You can have (I cant remember how many) for a HEA option. They come in blue cheese and I think an onion flavour although I haven't seen them in the supermarket as much as I would like.

I know members who have flavoured quark with just a tiny tiny bit of their favourite strong cheese and left overnight. Come morning, they have the taste/flavour of (insert your favourite cheese) but without all the syns !

    Morning all,

Today is a new day, and a new week.
I’m going for 100% SW this week :D.
    SO AM I !! :j
I’ve decided it might be a good idea to save a few extra syns for the weekend – that’s when I normally feel like something sweet!! Does anyone else do this? Or do you ‘use them or lose them’?

When I was following SW properly, I would keep my syns to a minimum / zero if I could during the week and then would relax [STRIKE]a little bit [/STRIKE] a lot at the weekend. This seemed to work for me. I think though its important to have your syns each day rather than go without.

Thanks flutterbyuk25 and MRSMCAWBER, I'm worried saving up my syns might lead me to overeating at the weekend, so it might not be a good idea.

Silly question MRSMCAWBER, but how do you make your wedges??

I used to make my SW chips by cooking jacket spuds in my microwave on the JP setting (I have a combination microwave). i would cook in the morning before work and leave to go cold. when I got home I would slice and cook in the oven. They were always very nice and felt like a real treat but now i have an even better method....

    I bought this from Lakel&nd http://www.lakeland.co.uk/lakeland-veggie-wedger/F/keyword/wedger/product/13644

So I make my wedges, boil for ten minutes, drain, and pop on a baking tray with frylight and cook for usually an hour. They crisp up lovely and really hit the spot. :D:j:D:j:D

  • Ok it's probably really simple but i've never used cream cheese to make cheesy pasta. however, i was thinking about using some of my light triangles and some salmon to make cheesy salmony pasta thing. Can anyone do a really simple recipe I can follow? I'm ok once I've made something once or twice but I have no inspiration to make things up!!

    Thanks!

    Squeakie:-

I just cut raw potatoes into wedges, toss in 1/2tsp olive oil (thats for 2 of us) -then I have all sorts of seasonings, so I sprinkle plenty on and throw in my remoska and switch on :p -but you can just chuck them in a roasting tin or on one of those holey pizza trays and bake.

  • i hack at a spud, spray with fry lite, mix with a couple garlic cloves for a garlic hit,or chilli powder or cajun spice and hurl it in the oven for about 40mins,syn free wedges! great with cheese grated over the top in front of the tv! ;)
  • hello again everyone !
i have been lurking for a while , not sure if i wanted to stick at it or not !
anyway i have been to my new group this morning and it was so much better , the only happy clapping was for awards given and a collective one for all the weight lost as opposed to going round everyone individually , so much better !
they also had a man there cooking and selling low and no syn sausages and burgers - yummy :)
i lost a pound this week but i am also weighing in boots every 4 weeks for the body fat measurements and it says i have lost 4 % of my body fat in those 4 weeks :j
so i am sticking at it and feeling happier and more settled which is good .

anyone know where i can buy these blue cheese triangles ?????
tried asda and tesco but no luck , i really want to try them :)

Oh excellent news, they are the Tiny ones that are 6g each - like a little mini bar with three teeny triangles. For 1½ syns that is FAB! :D (wish i hadn't given most of them to OH for his lunch now)

me too, always par boil them so that they dont take as long in the oven. However, once they are par boiled I dry them a bit on a clean tea towel before they go in the oven, apparently this helps them crisp up a bit more than soggy ones would.

Cook pasta until al dente (still a little firmness) and drain, keep a couple of tablespoons of the cooking water to one side. Turn off the hob and put the pan on top, add about 2 triangles per portion of pasta and stir to coat, it should melt in nicely, if not, add a little of the cooking water at a time to thin it. There should be enough heat left in the pan to warm through but if not pop the hob back on low and keep stirring. Flake some smoked salmon on the top and stir in or sprinkle on top after serving on your plate. Salmon is pretty salty so I wouldn't add salt but a twist of black pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice would be nice :)
