Vegan food websites would, by definition, be dairy-free and therefore possibly a good source of inspiration for fat-free recipes.
Macrobiotic websites - for the same reason - would also be worth investigating.0 -
I like to eat OS but I need to go fat-free or as close to it as possible. Any ideas ? All I can think of are plates of cold meat and mash and veg0

No need for that! Go to the library and look for some Weightwatchers or Slimming World cookbooks, they have some great ideas. Soups are very filling and can be completely fat-free.
I'm doing Weightwatchers at the moment and some of the things I've eaten this week include seafood paella, curried sweet potato & carrot soup, penne arrabiata and a creamy mushroom pasta using Philadelphia Light (which is great when you haven't much time to cook).0 -
Cold meat is full of hidden fat. Most vegetables are v low fat indeed (avocados being a notable exception).Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hi Mardatha,
Low fat foods include fruit, veg, salad, potatoes, veg soups and casseroles etc. Some meats are actually likely to be higher in fat.

veggie food based around grains, beans and veg rather than dairy will be naturally low in fat, lean trimmed meat such as skinless chicken, trimmed beef and pork, eggs poached or boiled raher than fried or scrambled in butter, white fish and most seafood other than oily fish.
BUT also rememebr low fat isn't always low cal and you need certain fats for good healthPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Feel free to come and join us on the Old Style Weight Loss thread, even if you just read everyone's food diaries you may get some ideas. Soups, stir fries made with no/little oil, jacket potatoes without butter, chicken casserole/curry (yes, I can make a fat free curry!)... just a few ideas.
I can't make fat free mash, my mash is more like a dessert... so I don't have it very often!
Rachbc is right though, you do need fats, especially as some vitamins are fat soluble. Unless you have gall problems a little fat is essential.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
