not the cash handling charges no - but the charges for going over your overdraft yep.

shooters correct - you don't use UTCCR as they are consumer regs.

Having gone through the process of calculating the last 6 years bank charges and paying £10 for the priviledge of having the information sent to me, I have been informed by LlodysTsb that as the account is a business I am not entitled to claim. Is this correct? How can I find out|?

Yes you can, but not using UTTCR as they are consumer regs.

This is just a bank tactic hoping that you haven;t researched and will believe them.

Please read previous posts on this thread and others on this site and on CAG and Leagal beagles for all the info you need

    Yes it can.
  • Hi,

Based on the advise posted on the site,i wanted to claim bank charges from my business accounts, one with LLoyds and another with Barclays.

I sent off the template letters with the figures, however both banks sent replies advising me, the issues with unfair bank charges do not apply to business accounts as they they are B2B accounts.

Is this true, is there a counter argument?

    Please advise.

    Thank you

Great news to share, just heard today from the Ombudsmen that Lloyds are going to refund £1,530.13 for business bank charges. We only claimed £ 920.00 plus interest (£1236.04) so well happy. Usual response - they do not accept that its charges are unlawful or unfair, but they would prefer to settle our complaint rather than have a formal investigation by the Ombudsmen. Yipee.....just 2 PPI to go and Abbey personnal bank charges...
Thank you to this site, Martin for all his dedicated work and everyone on here, good luck to all those still fighting, keep it up, its well worth the wait.
Power to the little people, banks had it to good, to long.
By the way first letter to Lloyds in March 2008, passed it to Ombudsmen end of April. Great result August 14th.

Oh yes you can, and successfully, read my post today (14/08/08) it is covered by common law not consumer law. you must state this in any letters. Write again, if they give a final decision not to refund charges, send it onto the Ombudsmen.

    Hi :)

I'm looking at reclaiming charges from my old Nat West business acoount (shut down after crippling bank fees  3 years ago).

I've tried to find this info without having to ask but I can't, so....whats' the address to send the first letter to requesting statements? It's different to the one for personal banking?

    Thanks
