As a sole trader you can treat a claim in the normal process as personal account claims. HOWEVER you may find that you may want to wait for the conclusion of the OFT Test case process.

Yes if it is for unpaid items, referral fees. Am not sure if the reclaim guide has the letters for business.

    hi

it depends if business accounts are covered by the UTCCR. If the test case rules the historical terms are not penalties (as it has for current terms) it may be difficult if they arnt.

There is always the possibility that the test case does not apply to business accounts as i would think they have entirely different terms and conditions.

I dont know of any business bank charges results since the stays were imposed. mine was paid back prior to the waiver and didnt get as far as court or ombusdman.

hopefully someone will have better information.

    Hi
I have agreed to put in a request to claim back charges for my nephew who is in sever financial difficulties. Problem is he has a business account wihich is slightly different to what I am used to.
I know that he can claim for fees for returned cheques and direct debits, but I am a bit confused as all his overdraft charges are combined with what Barclays call commision charges, where they charge him for using the account. When he ws in credit these were about £30 a quarter but now ihe is seriously overdrawn they are about £320 a quarter which makes his situation even worse.
Is there any way these charges can be claimed back or broken down so we know what he is being charged in overdraft fees.

    Thanks in advance

My husband had a business account with HSBC, now closed. I've got the last six years statements and there were hefty charges applied - often £70 or £80 in a month despite very few transactions.

Does anyone know whether we can claim these back? My husband says they are 'normal' account charges for a business account. I think he's in denial as he was constantly over his overdraft limit.

    Any advise welcome.

    anyone help???
  • Jayne, I have to claim poor knowledge of Barclays Business accounts. I would suggest having a look at the barclays website on charges.

I have a link to the basic information from Barclays.
    Hope it helps

    hi

dont know for sure but maybe a full SAR may clarify what the charges are for?

i dont think the Waiver covers business accounts either so normal complaints proceedures should still apply, including ombudsman appeals.
