I have had money taken off me for maintenance charge and 0.55 for every direct debit. Can I re-claim this?

The (limited) information you have given makes it sound like you are referring to the charges for operating a business account.
If that is the case then, no you can't claim these charges back. If it's anything different, give us a bit more info to go on.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
I have read previous threads and I think they are possibly out of date, Does anyone know a step by step way that charges can be reclaimed on a business bank account. I don't have the last 6 years statements only the last 3. Our account is with RBS, Is there standard templates as there are with ordinary bank accounts regarding the letters that you send to the bank?. Advice would be much appreciated0

Hi all, hope someone can help me?
Have a debt with Lloyds, just about to start repayments through arrangement made with Fenton Coopers, debt collectors, they are claiming debt of just over £1500.00 from me from my business account overdraft - business failed hence in the doo doo.
Ive requested a statement of charges which I received and I calcuate they have taken £750 from me in charges, also got the usual letter blah blah claims on hold, test case etc.
What should i do? still write to ask them for the money back - would half teh debt i owe to them if i was succesful?
Any ideas/advice would be appreciated.Focusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0 -
Hi please help.
we recently wrote to the bank with details of £2000 worth of charges. this is a business account. i used all of the templates set out from money saving expert.
Basically the back have sent a letter in reply Highlighting different legislation, and reasons why these don't apply to us!! basically they are flat out refusing to refund any charges. saying the reason is the 'we have not breached our contract with them' therefore there is no basis for the claim.
im really unsure what to do next.. can anyone helpSTARTING BALANCE JAN 09 £47,400

I have recently had a similar letter back as Cakey...
We have a Community Current Bank Account with NatWest, We were recently charged 2 x £35 for writing out a cheque when funds due in had arrived. Yes, we should have double checked that the funds were in (the funds were coming from an account held at the same branch) but boy oh boy, did we sure pay the price! The first charge OK, the second (because the bank took a gamble on the funds being in when representing the same cheque) does make you want to growl that £35 each time is a lot when it is a computer generated charge....
NatWest, in what would appear to be a bog stnadard computer generated letter, have highlighted the different reasons as to why they do not have to repay and also state that 'they "believe our charges to be fair, reasonable, and transparent" . (No doubbt the charge for this letter will be applied sonewhere laong the line?) No such hting as a free bank lette
They have referred us to the Financial Ombudsman if we wish to take this further. Has any other MSE gone to the FOS with an aco!!!! that is not a persional one and with what outcome?0 -
they have reffered me to the financial ombudsman also.. but hten if you go to the FO they say they are no longer taking on cases.. but the letter from the bank states that after 6 months.. if no reply they the case is void!! so i cant win either waySTARTING BALANCE JAN 09 £47,400
