i have tried to get back my bank charges
and in my last letter i was told that the charges were not unfair
and do not apply to me as i am a business customer and the regulations
only apply to customers
is this true ??0 -
Your normal bank business charges like cashing a cheque you cannot ask for back. But any charges that relate to overdraft, DD etc yes you can.A business did get back over 26k of charges. Tried to find it online but couldent. Its one of the biggest refunds yet to date.Basacially you are trying to say that for going overdrawn a charge of say £30 is unrealistic where as cashing a cheque on your business bank account may cost 75p a more realistic charge.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.

I've just recieved a letter from Lloyds after I made a refund claim on our old business account. They've explained that they feel they charged fairly and that they wouldn't refund anything.
They've said we can contact the Financial Ombudsman Service within the next 6 months.
What should we do now? Accept their decision or take it to court?
We don't understand the procedure.

Its a standard letter that Lloyd's send to anyone claiming bank charges back. Follow the procedure and when you file with the courts they will cave in and either make an offer or agree to the full amount including the court fee. Don't allow them to make you sign privacy clause only accept an unconditional offer.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p

Hi,
I worked out that i've paid over £7400 in bank charges in the past 4 years. We are a small company and have requested overdrafts from HSBC but they say that they will not give us one. They have made a lot of money out of us over the years with charges.
I contacted them and they wrote back to me and said that i can not claim bank charges on a business account!
Is this true? Can someone please help! I want my money back.

No, I don't think that is true - I'm sure I've read on the forum somewhere of other people claiming back for their company. I'm sure someone will come a long with a less vague answer than me though!LBM Nov 06 -Highest debt £37,000

You can claim back charges on Business Accounts. I claimed back £14K from Yorkshire Bank. With no disrespect to this site you are better to use the Consumer Action Group site for business claims. Also I recently got my sisters bank charges back on her personal account as she is on DLA and the Judge lifted the stay on her claim.
Don't let them put you off it's all dfelay tactics. Keep going, YOU WILL WIN.Rise, like lions after slumber
