you can claim refunds for business bank accounts, but there are complications.

Just to add to Karens great advice, your dad can also reclaim any unlawful charges from business accounts if he has any and the thread on this site is here:

I have requested my money back, sent in the charges and have now been told as im a business customer these acts and and regulations dont apply and only apply to consumers, surely i should still be able to claim this money back!!! Please let me know if you know, many thanks

The particular charges you mention can't be claimed as these are service charges/fees for maintaining a business account. The charges that can be claimed are similar to those on a personal account such as returned cheque/direct debit or going over an overdraft limit.

Hi Fiona,
Total bull!! I am in the process of claiming back on a Bank of Scotland business acc. They declined my request for refund, and my claim is now with the Ombudsman. This is them just trying to fob you off. Keep at it,

does anyone know if you can reclaim charges from banks for Business accounts?? Just had a friend receive £1600 from First Direct today!!!! and she now wants to know if she can do that same for her business account.

Yes, you can claim for returned item fees and overlimit fees

Hi has anyone reclaimed business bank charges. I have just put in a claim of £16k and stated I would accept £12K but have heard nothing since the first letter. Do I now have to threaten court do I need a solicitor? Will be glad to hear from anyone in same position.

Hi I have been going through my husbands business statements from the HSBC. He has total charges, can anyone tell me how I break these down into what I can, and can not claim back. Also is the letter the same as the one I would use to claim back personal charges ????
