can you reclaim charges on a business current account as well as a personal account?0

Hi there, Yes you can claim on a business account. I am currently in the process of claiming £7100 from my business account that was closed in 2005. I already have a court date for Sept. The bank has offered me approx £3000, but I spoke to someone on the phone today and I told them I would not be accepting. Best of luck!0

I run a business part-time along with my full time job and have a business account with Abbey. I have free banking with them on a few occasions I have been charged for being overdrawn by £2. Do you think I can re-claim the bank charges even though it is a business account?

My hubby is claiming charges on his business acc. The Bank of Scotland tried to fob us off and declined our request for refund, stating that they had decided not to pay out on business accounts. It is now in the hands of the FOS and according to them, a bus. acc. is entitled to claim the same as a personal acc. I think the wording may be a wee bit different when it comes to t/c etc. but I didn't bother mentioning anything about these in my claim, I just stated that the amount of charge was not proportionate to their costsl.
Cheers Izzy ( I'll let you know how I get on )0 -
Is it possible to approach the Ombudsman over unlawful charges made against a business account. Any info would be much appreciated. I have had success with Barclay's refunding on a private account,
(£785), but the business account procedure I feel is more complicated and I don't feel competent to handle that!

Hmmm ive no experience of dealing with business accounts but I would imagine it still stands re the charges so I dont see why not.
Maybe phone the FO and see what they say.0 -

I used the same procedure for my personal account and business account, but was using the MCOL route, and the bank offered a full refund.
If you ring the FOS, you will know for sure. If they cant do it, which i doubt, then you still have MCOL.0 -
My OH has a business account with HSBC - he is a self-employed person trading in his own name. This account was very expensive with all sorts of fees for normal transactions. He also accrued lots of over-limit fees. Can he reclaim the latter back? He says that as it was a business account the fees were part of the deal.
I'd be grateful for any advice people can give.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
